    Top 6 colors

If you want my opinion, make the adjustment right now to the top 10 or 15 colors, because you're just going to be there within the next 3 months anyway. Saves on shipping;lol. The same with the glitter and the highlights. If you are serious about the addiction, don't just stick your toe in the water; jump in and go for a swim. www.novalures.com
  2. I think that they are all pretty much the same in price. What will make the differance is the shipping. Pick the best quality plastic closest to you. www.novalures.com
  3. No Smallie. Pretty much like you said except I've never tried MF plastic. All good advice. www.novalures.com
  4. You're right; they aren't as hard to pour as they look. If you need more of the molds let me know. i have 4 that I don't need. www.novalures.com

    Nova Lures

Thanks Terry. Glad you liked them. Hopefully the St Frogs and ST Mino will be up on the site shortly. Got a few more surprises in the works as well. It's a little hard fishing frogs in an 8" hole; lol. Our season starts April 1st and our lakes are almost all ice free right now. Don't know how much time I'm going to get to fish. I guess I'll just have to make the time; lol. www.novalures.com

    my 1st

If that's your first one I can only imagine what you will be producing this time next year. Keep up the good work. www.novalures.com
  7. I do but not like you might think. I like the color but it may be a little light for the western guys. www.novalures.com
  8. You can go with commercial equipment if you don't mind spending many $. Most of us use rangehoods with the hightest cfm you can get. Make sure the vent pipe is metal and not plastic. Do not vent it to your chimney; vent it right to the outside. www.novalures.com
  9. More ventilation than you think you need. No joke; especially if you're married and want to stay that way. www.novalures.com
  10. Frank; Did you take any pics of them? I sure would like to see them. www.novalures.com
  11. You work with what you have I guess. Very neat idea. www.novalures.com
  12. POP stands for plaster of paris. Go to the tutorials and you'll find what you need or you can do a search. There are lots of posts about it. www.novalures.com
  13. Just kidding. I do much the same thing. www.novalures.com
  14. No attack here Nick. I started with a Coleman stove. I use both micro and hotplate. They both have good points and bad points. www.novalures.com
  15. Very nice color; but it must have taken you quite some time to lay out all those baits; lol. www.novalures.com
  16. It's been so many years since I've melted old plastic I'm not sure. All I remember is that it is very smokey; stinky and messy. I know that almost everyone has done it but take it from me; stay away from it if you can. Buy the proper plastic liquid and do it that way; you'll learn the hobby a lot faster. www.novalures.com
  17. Exactly. www.novalures.com
  18. Microwaves can be tricky things. I wore out my origional and bought another. I had to learn to use i all over again. They all don't heat the same. I put my plastic in and heat the first blast for 1:30. I stir and heat again at 1:30; stir again. After that I heat at 1 munute, stir and any more heating is done at 30 seconds. This works for me; but it may not work for you. You will have to play around with it until you find your groove. Start with short times at first; then work your way up till you find the optimun time for your micro. Keep us posted. www.novalures.com
  19. That was my first thought Smallie; but after I thought about it for a minute I'm pretty sure that if you get the bait out of the mold while it's still warm you can lay it straight and it should stay that way. www.novalures.com
  20. Sneaky Red Shad is something I put together. I never did try the blue; but I would suspect that you should start with a small amount of blue highlite as it is much stronger than the red. Try 1/16 tsp per 4oz plastic at first; you can add more if it's not enough. www.novalures.com

    easter

Same to you. Did the bunny visit your house? lol www.novalures.com
  22. Black goes with anything. Red is a good choice but I would try any color as a test. Just mix up an oxblood color; say 4 oz. Then take your small pouring pots and add just enough plastic to make a couple of 4"worms.( 4oz of plastic should pour at least 20 4" worms, maybe more). Then try any color glitter you want; pour it out and see what it looks like. You might be surprised at what you can come up with. I wouldn't think twice about trying blue or gold or even chartreuse. If you do it; post some pics. www.novalures.com
  23. Nothing wrong with that. You're getting there. www.novalures.com

    Duck Lure

That's really neat. The action is sort of like those whirlygigs you see on lawns. I'm surprised that someone on here hasn't come up with something similar. I can just imagine a giant pike tearing that one all to heck. www.novalures.com
  25. You'll go without eating before you quit this addiction. lol www.novalures.com
