  1. Looks good to me; just remember to heat your molds up. I really like the color combo. www.novalures.com
  2. Looks sort of like a snake pattern. Should be a neat bait. www.novalures.com
  3. I always use clear pine. It's much easier to work with and once you seal it properly it's plenty hard enough to use as a master. www.novalures.com

    I would Just

Same here. I usually have my morning cup at the puter looking at TU. I don't what I would do if it wasn't online; lol. www.novalures.com
  5. Good one Mike. Maybe that's where he got the idea;lol. www.novalures.com
  6. Those are really different; I like them. They look like those big white worms they eat in Austrialia. www.novalures.com
  7. From what I'm seeing in the pic; you are very very close. I'm not sure the fish will be able to tell much of a differance; but the fisherman might.lol www.novalures.com
  8. It's interesting that you say that even when you add more strawberry it doesn't get any darker. What is happening is that once you reach the total depth of the color that is in the bottle it simply will not get any darker. To add more of that color is simply a waste. You can add black to it but you have to careful with that as you can quickly wind up with a reddish grey. If after that you still need to get it darker you should stay within the red spectrum. You can try more red or even a very little black grape to darken it some more. Are the baits pictured yours or the color you are trying to get to? www.novalures.com
  9. I would think that a hobby/craft store would have them. Seems to me they would be the same as any other grommet. www.novalures.com

    Smallmouths

    Best I've ever seen. www.novalures.com
  11. Sorry Bruce; I thought it was "a" fisherwoman you were talking about. Of course I'll say welcome to the madness and with any luck, you're soon to be addiction. lol As far as kits go; they are available from delmart.com and I believe lurecraft.com. I'm not a fan of kits because I started that way and it was a nightmare. At the time I did not know about the 2 folks I mentioned above. If you are serious about learning to pour; I would suggest you buy what molds interest you as well as 5 gal of plastic; because you will ruin some of the plastic entering the learning curve. As for colors; go to the sticky and see what colors are there that you like and buy the liquid colors that make up those color recipies. There are the basics of course like black, green pumpkin, pumpkinseed, yellow, blue, and some shade of green, maybe even a white. (everyone has a different opinion about the "basic" colors) You will need glitters; black, red, blue, gold, and green to start. Once you get a handle on the pouring you will find that you will get into highlight powders and other colors as well as other glitters. It's a great hobby because you can make it as simple as you want or you can jump into it up to your eyes as well.lol Welcome and good luck. If you have any questions just ask. www.novalures.com
  12. I think there's a limit to the number of chambers you can put in it. The size of the pouring spout will determine that. You have to be quite selective when you buy your pyrex because I've noticed that you will see slight differances in the size and shape of them if you look at all of the ones on the store shelf. I've seen some that were quite narrow and pointed while some others are wide and shallow. www.novalures.com
  13. I used an airbrush to apply it. The only problem with it is that it is atomized in the air so you have to be careful about ventilation as well as the explosive nature of the thinner. I just did it for the sake of doing it; I don't plan on continuing with it. www.novalures.com
  14. That was me 152nd but it was laquer thinner. The neat thing about it is that you can mix the powders to get shades and colors. For example if you mix green with gold and lumina black you can get a nice smallie color. You have to play with the amounts a little to get what you want. www.novalures.com
  15. I don't think that it matters too darn much that one bait is clearer than another. If the fish gets close enough to tell the differance he's already committed to the bite. I think it has more to do with the action of the bait with color running a close second. Just my 2 cents. www.novalures.com
  16. If you want a template fill the pyrex with POP and let it set. Don't forget to grease the inside of the pyrex. After it sets up take it out; find the center line and then cut it from bottom to top. There's your template; just trace it out onto stiff paper. www.novalures.com
  17. One or two drops black and 1/8 tsp violet highlight. www.novalures.com
  18. The problem with large amounts of plastic in a micro, is the fact that a micro heats from the inside out. It can be done, but you have to do it in bursts and you will have to stir it each time; or else you will burn the plastic. www.novalures.com
  19. I'm sure that is done all the time. First with a 3-D program and then with the hydro programs. After all; the bait has to work before they can make it pretty, lol. www.novalures.com

    ST Frog

Thanks guys. Since I did the St Frog I've decided to to do a ST series. I'm presently working on 4 more types of baits for the series. www.novalures.com
  21. Post a pic. www.novalures.com
  22. Frank; I believe that you are refering to hyrodynamics. The action resulting from the resistance of the water against the the retrieval forces of the bait. Basically; that is what I'm most concerned about when I design a bait. www.novalures.com
  23. Thank goodness for old dead Greek guys; lol. www.novalures.com
  24. You're not going to believe me but I would not ever buy a quart of plastic. I started with a gallon and within two weeks I ordered 5 gals. You will go through it a lot faster than you think. You will ruin more plastic than you imagine while you are in the initial learning curve. www.novalures.com
