  1. That's exactly what I think. Re-coat the mold. Fill the cavities completly and let it set for a minute or two before you dump out the excess. Make sure the mold is really dry before you start pouring again. www.novalures.com
  2. Also; if you don't get complete coverage (sealer) the hot plastic will draw the air out of the POP and cause severe bubbling. Were the bubbles coming out of the same place each time? www.novalures.com
  3. Glad you made here Lisa. It's been a pleasure doing business with you. Great product and great prices. www.novalures.com
  4. The problem he is having is much more ampilfied than it is with sticks as his baits are a much bigger volumn. As the plastic starts to cool down, it shrinks and sucks into itself from the spru. He will have to more on top of it than someone pouring sticks because it will happen faster and with much more volumn. www.novalures.com
  5. What it all comes down to is that there are too many variables in our fishing. Right time; right place; right fish; right action; right bait; and right color/shade, for that one fish. And then there is the confidence of that particular fisherman. My partner loves a certain shade of yellow plastic bait. Me on the other hand; I don't care for yellow baits. We tried this one day pre-fishing. We both took the very same rod, reel, and line. We put on the same yellow bait with the same hook. I fish the front of the boat and he is in the back. We went down a stretch of shoreline for about 300 yards. At the end he outfished me 3 to1. In my mind the only differance in his favour was the confidence he has in the color of his bait. www.novalures.com
  6. I'm sure there are more than a few graphics guys here that can do a good job designing one Bruce. www.novalures.com

  8. MDC; I'm up to 2 fingers now. lol www.novalures.com
  9. Are you warming your molds prior to pouring the baits? It may also be that your plastic is not hot enough and/or you are pouring too slowly. www.novalures.com
  10. Firstly your molds have to be warmed up. You open your molds and lay them out on the table. You pour one color into each cavity of one side of the mold. Then you close the molds; tip them on and angle with the plastic you just poured on the top side. You then pour the second color(quite hot) into the mold. Sounds simple; but it takes practice. If you mess up, just pull the two colors apart before they cure and try again. Post some pics even if they don't look all that good and we'll help you. www.novalures.com
  11. Very nice work. Alot better than my first try. www.novalures.com
  12. Hey Bruce; I'll get right on it;lol. I think there would be a heck of a lot more money in those than baits. Can you say "crazy rich". www.novalures.com

    ST Frog

Thanks Swamp. Actually, when you hold the frog up to the light it turns green. www.novalures.com
  14. My basics of fishing is in flyfishing; and there's a saying "dark sky, dark fly; bright sky, bright fly." In other words the fish will have to see the bait in order to hit it. Laminates may help in this situation as they are usually a combo of dark and light colors. Do they catch fishermen; most definately. www.novalures.com
  15. Not all salt is pure. For instance table salt has iodine in it. Road salt has all kinds of impurities in it. There was a big discussion about this last year about this on TU. www.novalures.com

  17. My green smoke. Works in any color of water. www.novalures.com
  18. Delw; I live in an area that it known for some of the best fish(saltwater) and I like fish; just not raw. Lots of folks here eat raw scallops. I can't go that. I like my food cooked. I like "real" Chinese food, lots of ginger in it. www.novalures.com
  19. That's a hot looking color. Good work. www.novalures.com
  20. Raw fish is not my cup of tea; lol. www.novalures.com
  21. I've seen that on ebay before. Japanese have a real wild imagination. www.novalures.com
  22. I didn't mean to knock your bait Mike. Just trying to help out. www.novalures.com
  23. I like the combo of colors; very nice. Just a tip for you; make sure your molds are hotter before you pour and make sure your 2nd and 3rd pours are hot as well. Also, don't wait too long between pours. This will help reduce the cold cracks you're getting. It just takes practice, patience, and timing. www.novalures.com
  24. Very nice effect. I haven't tried that yet; too busy with the ST Frogs. Going to give it a go soon though. www.novalures.com
  25. I have a 12' x 24' shop on the side of my barn. Used to be a horse stall(previous owner). I have two windows that I open on good days as well as a hood fan. The shop has electric heat and is insulated. First time I poured(1991), I did it in the basement using old plastic (smokey). I only did it once and then I was informed by the sergent at arms that if I did that again I would be sleeping in the basement. Moved the pouring to the barn the next day. lol Like many here, if I spend too much time in the shop, I hear about it. www.novalures.com
