  1. Yes you can glue the scullpy to the bottom. www.novalures.com
  2. Very nice. Simple and effective for not a lot of $. www.novalures.com
  3. When I was making spinnerbaits and topwater hardbaits I dealth with several companies that I won't name and was not happy until I found Hagen's. They not only have a great selection but they will do custom work. You do have to by in bulk but it makes your costs per unit much lower. www.novalures.com
  4. I've got both; wide and narrow; and I use them for different pours. The wide ones I generally use for one color pours when I'm looking for production speed or laying down the main color of a 2 color pour. I use the narrow spout when I want to do detail work. www.novalures.com
  5. I use sculpy clay a lot. I only baked it once and never did it again. I use it soft in the mold. It's a lot easier to get out of the mold especially if you have a complicated shape. www.novalures.com
  6. Topwater baits are probably the easiest of all hardbaits to start with. They are also the most fun because you see the hit. The problem is that some folks get stuck on them and are reluctant to try anything else. Once you get used to torpedos and spook type baits then you can go on to stickbaits which run just under the surface. After that the next step is crankbaits. By doing it this way you will learn to fish all the depths of water and you will be able to catch fish no matter where they are. www.novalures.com
  7. Bruce; maybe you should move up here. I get to watch 3 or 4 games a week on regular cable TV. As far as Lindros goes; he was a legend in his own mind. I remember when he was drafted and he acted like a spoiled brat. I remember when goalies stopped the puck with their bare faces and guys played with broken bones for about $20K/year. Now some of them get millions and they act like prima donnas. There; that ought to get some fire in this thread....lol. www.novalures.com
  8. Looks like LC's motoroil heavy flake with a pearl bottom. www.novalures.com
  9. You got that part right; brrrrr. I always preheat my molds with scrap rubber before I start to laminate. Once you get going the molds stay warm and you're all set. Just make sure the second color pour is hot so that the bonding can take place. Sometimes I don't let the first color set (open molds) before I pour the second color because I'm looking for a "blended" look between the colors. www.novalures.com

No I don't. I just looked at yours and that combo jumped into my head. You could even try LC motor oil instead of the black. www.novalures.com

    Color Help

It's not black; it's just a light smoke. You need some sort of darker background to bring out the highlite. I use 4 oz of plastic as the basis for all my recipies. If you have some left over; just put the rest in a ziplock and get as much air out of the bag as you can. I've re-used plastic that is months old with no problem. You do have to be careful if you have salt in the plastic and try to keep it for a time as the salt will attract moisture. Didn't mean to highjack this thread, sorry. www.novalures.com
  12. Looks good. I like the combo of colors. www.novalures.com

Braveviper; try this for that shad. 4 oz plastic, 2 drops black, 1/16 tsp turquoise highlite as a vein between the purple and pearl. www.novalures.com

    Color Help

If you have some highlite; you might want to add a little violet highlite or even a touch of green highlite. You might even try to laminate the color you have there with a pearl white. www.novalures.com
  15. Whose the maufacturer Capt? www.novalures.com
  16. Those eyes at NJ tackle are quite expensive compared to Lurecraft at $7/100. www.novalures.com
  17. I don't think there is a rule of thumb for the sizes. I think you just use the one that looks the best on the baits you are making. www.novalures.com
  18. Lurecraft was the cheapest I found outside of buying larger volumns from the manufacturer. www.novalures.com
  19. Wow; how much money has that guy got? He's been trying to give me some too;lol. www.novalures.com
  20. Man; you never know till you ask; lol. www.novalures.com
  21. Nothing wrong with that attempt. Good work. www.novalures.com
  22. Chris I think that you and I pour much the same when it comes to temps. I tried messing around with a candy themometer but it was just a pain in the butt to me. I just go by what the plastic looks like(thinness) when I'm pouring layers. www.novalures.com
  23. Size 35 and 15 are the 2 most popular sizes. www.novalures.com
  24. We had a big go round about that some months ago. If you do a search for worm oil I think you'll find all the answers. It's not that I don't want to say anything it's just that it was a large thread. www.novalures.com
  25. I don't know how to make it stay in the channel either. All I know is that when I'm in a tourny I don't want to waste my time messing around with a blue piece of silicone. The ones that mess up I just take out and forget. It's just one of those things that on the surface is a good idea but it was poorly engineered. www.novalures.com
