    Thanks Chad. www.novalures.com
  2. Merry Christmas to all at TU; members, mods and creator from Nova Scotia, Canada. And a very happy New Year. www.novalures.com
  3. I've had that happen in the past. It useually comes from not stirring it enough. I never did find a way to fix it. I tried putting new resin in the "holes" but after a dozen pours it just came out. www.novalures.com
  4. Mike it's the TU program; automatically censors it. Feathers eh? You talking about a feathered enema? lol www.novalures.com
  5. I like the pea#### herl for the lateral line. That actually will add some strength to the body. Did you take the feathers off the stem? www.novalures.com
  6. That's ok Bruce. It's rare that I find someone with the same sense of humour. I get into trouble all the time with it, or so my wife says; lol. www.novalures.com
  7. Hope you're joking Bruce, lol. The optimum temp for pouring is 350 degrees F. After you get to know the product and develope you're pouring skills you will learn that sometimes you want the plastic a little cooler or warmer depending on the result you need. Most recipies are set up for 4 oz of plastic. This makes it easier to double or triple the formula. As you develope colors make sure you write down everything you do as you do it. If the color works out then you can put it in your recipie book. www.novalures.com
  8. Don't be afraid to ask and remember, there are no stupid questions; only stupid answers. lol www.novalures.com
  9. If you are using fresh plastic it doesn't melt; it gets thick at first and then as the temp comes up it turns back to a liquid about the consistency of hot molasses. The optimum temp is 350 but you have to work your way up to it if you are using a micro. If you try to do it all at once you will burn the plastic. www.novalures.com
  10. You can put salt in any bait even one piece molds. If you want to try a good "non-color" for a stick just use your normal salt(floured) in clear plastic and add holi flakes. www.novalures.com
  11. Use postal service if you can. You only have to pay $5/box at the PO instead of the big brokerage fees that UPS or Fedex will charge you. That's the cheapest I could find. www.novalures.com

Thanks. This is one that I made from aluminum. www.novalures.com
  13. Exactly Mike. www.novalures.com
  14. They are silver holi foil painted with glass paint I got from Wallyworld; then a drop of thinned epoxy to form the dome. www.novalures.com
  15. Happytime, you could always make your own 3D eyes. www.novalures.com
  16. That should work. www.novalures.com
  17. I never cover my masters with a release. Just make sure you seal the master well and you'll be fine. www.novalures.com
  18. Are you making a one part or two part mold? Also, what shape is your master? If the master has curved edges it won't matter how much you "grease" the master, it won't come out without ruining the mold. www.novalures.com
  19. Jim; knuckle down; buckle down; do it, do it, do it. lol Go for it buddy. www.novalures.com
  20. If you do a search here for it you should find it. There were several recipies posted a while ago. www.novalures.com
  21. I've been dipping sticks for my own use for a while now; but I didn't think to put eyes on them. My fishing partner and we call them "condom" sticks; lol. I'll be putting eyes on them next season. Thanks. www.novalures.com
  22. I have 2 electric 1500 watt heaters that are portable and look like baseboard heaters. They have small fans in them and they are fairly quiet. I think I bought the pair for under $70. My shop is 12 x 24 and they heat it up very nicely. You don't have to get fancy; keep it simple. www.novalures.com
  23. Definition: "progress":- Man's ability to complicate the uncomplicated. The way I see it; if I design something say like "Buzz" the Mouse then it's mine and others should respect that. Sure it's on a basic modified buzzbait frame but the part that really matters is unique to me and it's made in a way that can't be easily copied or mass produced. Don't get me wrong here I'm not accusing anyone of anything; but what is missing nowadays is respect for others. Big business stealing from the little guy and vise versa. www.novalures.com
  24. Very good question. Without getting into a very long ramble; I'll say this. In this game of making baits for sale, the first thing we are fishing for is the fisherman, because if he doesn't buy the bait; the fish never sees it. In other words; I don't think the fish gives a diddly damn if the bait looks shiney in your hand or not. www.novalures.com
  25. I like the idea of wax as a master. Never would have thought of that. It's easier than wood to work with and you can "add" to it unlike wood. Then after you finish, you can melt the scraps into the next block. Thanks. www.novalures.com
