  1. I wasn't suggesting to make the mold from lead; just the master. I've done it once before. Comes out good but it takes a lot more time than using wood or clay. www.novalures.com
  2. Willie ya just had to ask if I made the master for the goby didn't ya; lol. Got me to thinking about it and when that happens I have to stop everything and do it or it will drive me nuts and beleive me I don't have far to go; ha ha. I did a master today out of clay and made the first master mold. Not a realistic as Travis' goby. Nice job. Once I get the production mold made I'll post some pics. www.novalures.com
  3. Try lead in POP. www.novalures.com
  4. I didn't carve that one. That mold I've had for years. Thanks guys. www.novalures.com
  5. From what I'm seeing it looks like motoroil. I really prefer to have an actual bait in my hand but that's not always possible. www.novalures.com.
  6. There's two ways to look at it. If you do a lot of fishing and spend quite a bit of $ on baits then it's worth while looking at it from the money end of things. If you want to have a hobby that with test your imagination and creativity then it will also be worth while but not from the $ aspect of things. Some guys don't fish all that much but they sell a few baits to there buddies to offset the costs. In any case; be warned; this is very addicting. lol www.novalures.com
  7. 181 looks like the same color only with gold flake instead of copper and a little more of the purple glitter. www.novalures.com
  8. Ok I see it now. It looks like LCmotoroil with black, purple, and copper flake. I would say 4 oz plastic with 6 to 10 drops of motoroil. Start with 6 then work your way up till you get the shade you want. I think you'll find the copper flake will bleed a little and add to the base color of the bait. I'm just going from the picture and I may be off a little. www.novalures.com
  9. Went to the net and read about them/looked at pics. www.novalures.com
  10. When you are making a 2 piece mold always put a vent or two from the tail section just incase. As for the sticking problem; never pour into an unsealed mold. Always seal the mold well. This will give the glassy finish; prevent sticking, and allow the plastic to flow easier into the mold. Also; make sure you plastic is hot enough. www.novalures.com
  11. Rocky is that color anywhere near? www.novalures.com
  12. Do you have a better pic than they do? www.novalures.com
  13. Try reg green with a little green highlite. That will turn it milky and give it a slight "pearl" look. Are there 3 colors there? www.novalures.com
  14. Sure. I could put silver holijewels there but it might take away the effect of the highlite coming through the green.(doesn't show very well in a pic) www.novalures.com
  15. The mold is my own design. www.novalures.com
  16. It's a one piece. www.novalures.com
  17. Question:- what's her name; lol www.novalures.com
  18. Here's what I came up with.
  19. Couldn't wait for the sun. Let me know if it's close. The belly has string holi glitter in it.
  20. What Sam/ Frank is talking about is one color inside of another color. All of my shads on my site are cored. www.novalures.com
  21. We don't have anchovys here so I haven't seen one "in the flesh". Going by what I saw on the net and what you folks have said here I poured up a shad. I'll post a pic as soon as the sun shines and I can get a good photo. www.novalures.com

The way our rules read it states no live bait and the only prepaired bait allowed is pork. I think that some of the guys were just mad that they didn't think of it first. www.novalures.com
  23. From the picture I would say LC motoroil back and the bottom I would try one drop golden yellow with green highlite. Oh, 4 oz plastic for both. I might be way of here but is that a type of sucker? www.novalures.com
  24. Post a pic. www.novalures.com

We had a big "go round" in our club a few years back when some guys used them in a tourny. Some of the guys were upset with it. But they are artifical. The guys who used them had a good day. Didn't win but did surprisingly well; if I remember correctly. Probably if they had "bombed" no one would have complained. Go figure. I've never tried them myself; but I have been tempted at times. www.novalures.com
