    swimbait help

You also have to make sure that you insert the jighook straight.(lined up with the center of the back of the bait). If your hook is slightly off-line it will make your bait "layover" or spin when you retreive it. www.novalures.com
  3. Do like the Swede says. www.novalures.com
  4. I never put hooks to it. I couldn't bring myself to use it. I'll see if I can dig it up and post a pic. www.novalures.com
  5. I made a popper from Brazilian mahogony once. Twisted off 2 screw eyes even with pilot holes. I finished it in natural. Very nice grain but very hard to work with. www.novalures.com
  6. I assume that you are putting green glitter in chatreuse plastic. That will turn blue in the right light. www.novalures.com

    New Swimbaits My Design

    Thanks Jim. www.novalures.com
  14. I use the LC blue and am very pleased with it. Check out the soft bait gallery and do a search for nova and you will see that blue. www.novalures.com
  15. I didn't know that Calhouns was making colorant. www.novalures.com
  16. I just finished a design that is between a fluke, a shad, and a slug-o. I'll have it on my site shortly. www.novalures.com
  17. God bless the dollar store;lol. I can buy moveable eyes 160 for a dollar. I have to fight the crafters though to get them. I've checked them in my books and the cheapest was $2.50/100. www.novalures.com
  18. I use mainly LC colors. I have a few MF; but I don't have any of Del's yet. When I started all there was; that I knew of; was LC. I haven't tried to combine the colors yet but I'm sure that it will produce interesting combos. The main think is to keep "complete" notes when you make a recipie. www.novalures.com
  19. Zip knife is just a razor knife/box cutter. Or you could use an exacto knife; which I prefer. www.novalures.com
  20. I have some colors that I use very little of and some of those bottles are over 5 years old. I have no problem with drying out. just make sure the caps are on tight. www.novalures.com
  21. I think you hit it TC. Sometimes a small piece of lead will find it's way onto the inside face of the mold and when you close the mold it flattens out; but it is still enough to not let the mold close completely. Make sure you look the inside of the mold over very well every 3 or 4 pours and clean off any foreign material before you continue pouring. www.novalures.com
  22. Nothing wrong with those. Get yourself a zip knife to trim the overpour and you're all set. www.novalures.com
  23. I assume you are using LC's colors. Just take the red cap off, poke a hole into the spout at the top so that the color can get out(do not cut the top with a knife) and then you can put the red cap back on after you get the required number of drops out. You do this for each and every bottle of color you have. Do not move the red cap from one color bottle to another. When you are applying the color to the plastic only un-cap one bottle at a time, that way there will be no mixup. www.novalures.com
  24. You did it right Saint. www.novalures.com
  25. Thomas; when you pour the first part don't go all the way to the hole. Leave about 1/4" space between th plastic and the pour hole. The angle you tilt the mold is about 30 degrees and you pour hot and slow. www.novalures.com
