I use sculpy clay and other things as well for masters. Sometimes I'll make a master that has rounded sides or protruding eyes(see the contest) and you won't be able to get those out of a 1 piece pop mold. For this I won't "fire" the sculpy I just pick it out after the pop has set. www.novalures.com

Frank; what about dipping it in epoxy or clearcoat of some type. Talk to the hardbait guys; they're always posting about clearcoats. There was some posting about melting clear plastic cups with lacquer thinner and using that as a clearcoat. www.novalures.com

There's even a bigger than just finding them Frank. SS bearings are quite exspensive. I use BB's; the difference is not that great. www.novalures.com

I use Bob's molds as well. I think I reacted too quickly. I get 17 to 18 sticks. I use LC's pouring cup as a measure and it's just over 4 oz so if you are just over 5 oz then it all makes sense. www.novalures.com

I have a new design and for the life of me I can't come up with a good name for it.(must be vopour locked,lol) So, let's have a group brainstorm.(we haven't had one of these for a while now) So, here's the deal. One week from today on Jan 31st I'll decide which name to use. The winner will get a selection of baits for their efforts. enter as many names as you want. The bait is 5 1/4" long and 1/2" deep. Tad; use veg oil instead. PJ will make high spots. The veg oil will soak into the pop and shouldn't make voids unless you put too much or don't wait long enough for it to soak in. You will have to pry the 2 parts from each other gently with a kitchen knife. Don't use a sharp knife as the 2 parts sometimes will break away from each other quite quickly and if your hand is in the wrong place you could do yourself some damage. I think the "big" companys have no intention of burning any small guys making baits for themselves and their buddies. They are just making a lot of noise to scare folks away from making instead of buying. On their part it doesn't cost a great deal of money to start rumors and the possible return on that investment can be pretty good. It's sort of like the big kid in the playground making a lot of threatning gestures to scare all the other kids so he can control his part of the playground. I really wouldn't worry too much about it as long as you don't promote your product too much and you don't get too big. Just my thoughts. www.novalures.com
