  1. Re-pours can be a problem. Some of the "manufactured" plastic can get tough when re-heated. Other companys add different things to their mixtures (Berkley; etc) and this can do different things such as produce sticky baits and foam up in the pot as they are melting. In my opinion, you are much better off buying the raw plastic and starting with fresh product. Your pouring will be much more enjoyable. www.novalures.com

No; me either. Probably just a lurker with a strange sense of humor. www.novalures.com
  4. As a "rule of thumb" I never fill my pans, pots or pyrex more that 1/2 full to pour into a one piece mold. A 2 piece, like a stick mold, is not so touchy. www.novalures.com

    curl tails

You want to get your "tail section" a little higher. (much easier with RTV) Put something under the mold on the tail end. Pour the tail first and let it run down into the deeper part of the mold. Once the tail is complete focus only on the body of the grub. With practice you will be able to get the tails thinner than you have been. Note: you will never get the tails to be as thin as an injected bait but you will get very close. www.novalures.com

Does anyone remember the guy who offered the samples of scent just before we went down? Just wondering if any of the guys who signed up got samples or was the whole thing just a come-on? www.novalures.com
  7. Yup; there's nothing like free. This subject has been touched on before. If I remember correctly the someone came up with a good idea of selling the baits to your sponsors at cost + shipping. That will weed out the "grabbers". Last year I had a guy ask if I would sponsor him and his partner in a major tourny (not local). I told him I would and what the deal was. In the deal there was 50 packs for him and his partner and another 30 for giveaways; gave him a price of $50 and never heard from him again. www.novalures.com

  9. I didn't know that Bigbass; I've had mine for about 10 years and haven't looked at them in the cataloge since. Thanks. www.novalures.com
  10. The answer is simple. You haven't sealed your mold well enough. www.novalures.com
  11. I use them for the fine detail work when pouring 3 and four color baits. The difference is one is right handed and the other is left handed. You will need a hotplate for the cups; do not put them in the micro. www.novalures.com
  12. Looks good Jim. I've tried that before but my left hand forgets what my right hand is doing; lol.
  13. I use a flat metal pan and super glue. You can get cheap pans at any dept store but the botom has to be flat. www.novalures.com

    Thanks Jim.
  16. Ther you go DJ. Just make sure it's new and clean. Jim; I tried the BB's but they can fall down and plug the spout as you are putting the color into the plastic. www.novalures.com

  19. I've never had a problem with LC's colors. Some of the colors have more of a settling problem that others. The solution is to put a "fresh" nut in the bottle so that when you shake the bottle it stirs the color up quickly. Do not use BB's as they will have a tendancy to plug the outlet as you put the color in the plastic. Use a nut; or two; as big as will fit into the neck of the bottle. www.novalures.com
  20. Red; I put a link between my site and TU. Hope that was ok? lol www.novalures.com
  21. The thing of it is that the rabbit fur will look and "pulse" a lot better in the water. Not to mention that it is a lot tougher than feathers. Granted; as far as "eye candy" to the fishermen; the feathers look a lot better. Still a nice looking bait though. www.novalures.com
  22. Thanks Jim. They look great. We should do a trade sometimes. www.novalures.com
