  1. You want the lead to run in a steady stream. Also, you have to try to get it in the hole without touching the stream to the sides. Be careful with no hooks as the lead might run right through the mold. Keep at it and you'll find what works for you best. Good luck.

    Salt

Think of a propeller on a boat. It is basically a screw. If you reverse your motor the flow of liquid should come from the bottom to the top.
  3. There is a type of stick material that you melt with a torch that is designed for aluminum.
  4. Play is safe buddy. The metal muffin tins are not that exspensive. What price do you put on a really bad burn; or better yet; how much are your eyes worth.
  5. The only real difference is what you put on the assembled frame. If you want to see a "different" bait check out my "Buzz" the mouse in the photo gallery.
  6. Here's a little poem. I can't take credit for it, I saw this on an old plaque at a flea market and bought it for 50 cents. Bass & walleye, catfish & trout I'm telling you now, You better look out. You were safe in the lakes, While I was home wishing. But be on your guard, 'cause I'm going fishing.
  7. I just phone them and talk to Kim. I do not like to order over the internet if I can help it. I like to talk to a real person as well. I've never had a problem with them. They are pleasant and nice people to deal with. Try again.
  8. Seems to me that would be very close to green pumpkin without the black flake.
  9. Jim if it doesn't catch fish you can aways say that it was soooo pretty that the fish just admired it's beauty. lol
  10. Frank is right. It only requires a cheap micro and then you can remain in good graces with the wife. Just heat it in short bursts. If you try to do it all at once you'll burn the center of the plastic, as a micro heats from the inside out. Once you get the hang of it, it will go quite quickly.
  11. First you have to find a girl named Pearl. No just kidding. Try this:- 4oz.plastic....12 drops white.....1/8 tsp white pearl and just a pinch of violet highlite. Actually black with white pearl is interesting as well.
  12. You might find one at a vetrinary supply house.
  13. I bought a set from Can Tire. 1cu,2 cup,and a 4 cup. I think the sale price was 8.99 CDN. No problem with them at all. The 1 cups are handy for veins.
  14. Has anyone ever tried to mix resin with bondo or resin with plaster;or am I asking a silly queston?

    mystery metal

I don't think they used it to make brakes as it would melt down with the friction heat when the brakes were applied. As far as what it might be, I don't have a clue; but it is interesting. I'm sure that with nearly 3000 members, someone on this site must work with metals for a living.
  16. When Dave still owned LC he told me that if you pour plastic with salt in it the shine will go away a lot sooner.
  17. Humans are basically like crows. If it shines or glitters, we're attracted to it. It's something leftover from the "caveman days". Unfortunately, some of us are more attracted to it than others, lol. (no offense, just kidding) I guess what I'm saying is that it is just an inherent trait that humans have and there is not much we can do about it. I agree with CrawChuck that it shouldn't (logically) make any difference...........but it does.
  18. The big temptation with this is to try to discover a color that no one has and that causes a person to "over-do" the number of colors. As a salesman you want to be able to say to perspective customers that you can produce almost any color they want. Then you look at some companys that carry 7 million colors(lol) and in the back of your mind you say if they can do it so can I. I usually carry a small amount of stock for the more popular colors; but never more than 100 of each.
  19. From a legal perspective; would it be enough just to have a product disclaimer on the label? Saying something like "the customer accepts all liabilities at the time of purchase of this product". Nathan I know you sell insurance for a living; but couldn't something like this work as far as the product itself goes? I agree that you should have some type of coverage at your work location, that's just common sense.
  20. I tried that because it was so much cheaper, but it destroyed the cutting heads in my grinder. So $20 later I went back to pickling salt.
  21. I use pickling/canning salt. Works fine when you flour it.

    Welcome. Is that Barrie, Ont?
  24. The water that will collect will come from the air in the pot and condense on the cover, then dropping into the plastic. Then it could be "ouch" for you.

    Ripp-offs!

When money comes into the equation ethics is the frist thing out of the window. Just look at Enron. It's too bad the business world is such a cut throat place. I think it has a lot to do with mutual respect or rather the lack of it. It would be great if everyone would play nice. It would make things so much more productive. My 2 cents.
