  1. Got it working and the needle out. Turned out the valve for the can wasn't getting in far enough. Had a washer in the lid top that is too thick, without it works ok with very little leakage. Probably just buy a new can top, or just switch over to the air compressor to play with. Ran some cleaner through after cleaning up the needle, and got some nice green dissolved paint. Got it running clear now, figure I'll run some more cleaner through it again later today if any more old paint dissolves. Next question is how far does the needle come out of the end of the gun in a ideal world?
  2. Thank you both...will play around with it some more
  3. appears the needle is stuck, found a couple other articles and looks like I was taking it apart right. So if the needle is stuck, what would be the best way to dissolve whatever crud is holding it in place?
  4. have a badger 150 that was given to me. Thought I'd play with it, picked up a can of propel to just play with before breaking out the air compressor. Can't get any air to flow though the gun. Read through the badger pdf for instructions, and looks like it is assembled correctly. Long need though won't come out of the gun, so assuming there is something I'm missing holding it in place or it just doesn't come out. Badgers pdf isn't really clear. Tried using it before ever messing with taking anything apart of course, not I'm frustrated. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. I'll tell you my favorite style is a mushroom jig head for rocks and weeds. Actually like the gopher tackle big jon in about 1/16 for chunk rock, and 1/4 for shale style rock. Big jon works well in weeds as well. I fish that style of head open hook, and rarely get hung up. Lighter head for chunk rip rap rock.
  6. Thank you Basseducer and smalljaw. Appreciate the help.
  7. How far does a 5/0 hook extend. Say with standard length skirt material would it be almost to the back of the skirt? I'm just wanting to make some thin wire, light baits. Probably will end up with smaller indiana blades, and some 3/3.5 double willow setups. Been collecting lead for awhile, but haven't poured anything. Thought spinnerbaits would be a good starting place as the only commercial ones I like are war eagles and never can find the 1/4oz. Always have to special order.
  8. I'm thinking of buying the do-it sj-4b-a mold. Takes 253 or 255 style hooks. I know I can find those hooks in eagle claw, but what would be a mustad equivalent? Is there a chart that any knows of? More importantly what would be a good size? I was thinking 2/0 for 1/4 and 3/0 for the 3/8th size heads. Do-it Molds: Bullet Spinner Jig Also can you get away with using lighter wire forms than .035? Thank you for the help, my apologies if this has been asked and answered 2 billion times already.
