  1. The Fish Hedz are the way to go in my opinion. Yes they are a little expensive, but they work, and they are quick to take on and off. They are super lite weight and they store very easily. I put my hood of my frogg toggs on first and then put the mask on. It works great :!:
  2. They look just like real gators Nice baits.
  3. Pop, Let me know if you can find anyone to make a custom color combo any cheaper. The color I wanted was simple, chartreuse with red flake. Sounds simple, but nobody that I talked to carried it. I tried a bunch of people to. I guess instead of being patient, I got frustrated and bought from the first company that could accomodate my request. That and the fact that I had a customer breathing down my neck Let me know what you find out. Thanks
  4. Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm glad I didn't buy that gun yet I think I will give the glitter trick a go. Thanks again.
  5. Try Living Rubber. www.livingrubber.com I had them make a custom color skirt for me. Minimum order for custom colors is 1000 skirt tabs @ 150.00 +tax.
  6. Has anyone used the plastic gun from Lure Craft? I was thinking about trying it out. I have a couple of baits with protruding eyes and I am trying to figure out the best way to make them a different color than the rest of the bait.
  7. I live in Washington state, but I would love to finally fish some of California's bass lakes. I've been drooling over Clear Lake for a few years now. It would be great to get to meet some of you fellow tackle makers.

I only use my own soft plastics and spinnerbaits. I guess it is a confidence thing I only buy hard baits such as cranks, stickbaits, and topwaters. I plan on purchasing some crankbaits from some of the guys on this site. They are a very talented bunch.
  9. I use plastic tupperware type containers. It works just fine.

I like the new Quantums, but they can get a little spendy. For price and quality I would have to recommend the Pro Qualifier from Bass Pro Shops. I have one that is about three years old and it still works like it is brand new Just my two cents worth.
  11. Welcome aboard My suggestion would be to use clay to make your prototype and then use Durhams Water Putty to make the molds. If you like the bait after all of this, then I would get Del-Mart to machine one out of aluminum. They are by far the best molds. I use Lure Craft 536 plastic but will be switching to Calhoun's after my supply runs out. Everybody seems to think it is by far the best out there. Colors are a personal preference as are scents. You can't go wrong with crawdad and anise scents in my opinion. I use Lure Craft scents. Add some glitter of choice and your off and running. Hope this helps. Good Luck :!:
  12. I'm sure a lot of you read Bassmaster magazine. If you do, then I am sure you saw the article on fishing in Iraq. I think it was called Fishing Sadaam's Waters. Great story :!: There is a guy who runs a tackle shop called the Worm Shack. He is collecting tackle of all sorts to send to the troops overseas. I have committed two of my states fishing websites, to help out also. I am going to run something on my site to help draw more attention to this. I just wanted to get the west coast involved with this since most of the support seems to be coming from the south and east coast. I just think this is an awesome cause Don't get me wrong, I think anything to do with helping kids or needy families is very important, but when I read about troops in Iraq fishing with a homemade rod, line from a parachute cord, and a Slim Jim as bait, I just look at all of my equipment that I take for granted and feel guilty. These guys deserve the best :!:
  13. I too have only had minimal success trying to pour these. One out of maybe 5 baits looks good. Oh well I guess a guy just needs to keep on pouring
  14. Can you add these scents into the plastic while heating, or will they explode :!: It sounds like they might be the best out there.
  15. I was finally able to launch the boat this last Sunday. I used the baby Slither exclusively for the first part of the day. I had excellent results with one smallmouth going 4.5lbs and a couple in the 3lb range. I also caught several smaller fish as well. The big fish came on the smokey blue shad color. I used every color I was given with fish being caught on all of them. I only caught one on the junebug, but I have never had much luck on the lake I was fishing with this color for smallmouth, only largemouth. After all is said and done, I have to say great job on these baits. Quality stuff Thanks again for the offer to fish these. I love using new baits.
  16. Count me in too :!: This is truly a great idea.
  17. I use Lure Craft 536. How much hassle would it be to switch to Calhoun. I mean as far as refiguring my formulas etc. I get the feeling from all you guys on this board that Calhoun's in superior. Anybody use L.C. 536 anymore? I just have a feeling it is going to be a major headache. :
  18. Try these two sites. www.customtackle.com & www.mudhole.com
  19. I can make a 3"grub, as long as a few styles of drop shot worms. The grub is one of Del's molds. It makes an awesome bait. I can send you some samples as well. I just need your address.
  20. I'm kind of lost as to how this auto cad stuff works. If you designed a bait, do you just save it to a disk to give to a machine shop with a CNC machine. This stuff sounds very interesting. Thanks.
  21. Has anyone seen a drop shot keeper? Basically a piece of neopreme or some other elastic material that goes on the butt of your drop shot rod and keeps the weight from getting tangled up. I suppose you could use a rubberband or something along those lines. I am thinking about making some up with a piece of velcro to put on my website. Any thoughts :
  22. Has anyone tried the new one from In-fisherman? It is called Freshwater Trophies. It is a PC game. Looks really good. I can't talk my wife into letting me buy it, so I will have to keep sweet talkin her
  23. Nice pick sheet, it looks really sharp
