    Bad Plastic?

Jeff is taking care of me. I guess they found a couple of contaminated drums and they are trying to make sure they get it all. They were great about it and I have new plastic on the way. Great service!!

    Bad Plastic?

Jim, the plastic seems to pour the same, as I poured up a couple of 1 cup batches. It is just the smell that is overwhelming. I even took some left over plastic out of 4 different 5 gallon jugs and did 4 different tests to compare smell. The new stuff is just way off for some reason. I will be calling Jeff here shortly. I will keep you posted.

    Bad Plastic?

Thanks guys. I know they will make it right. I just thought it was weird because I have never had an issue in all the years I have used M-F.
  4. I just opened a new 5 gallon jug of M-F super soft and it smells so bad that I can't even use it. It has a real heavy chemical type smell to it. Has this happened to anyone on here? I have been pouring and using M-F for years so I know what the stuff is supposed to smell like. I even tried adding more scent to mask the smell, but it doesn't seem to work.

    coffee baits

I think a lot of us on here are pouring with Doug's(Upperhand Scents) coffee/ shad scent. It is amazing stuff to say the least. The smallmouth up here seem to really like it. I also use coffee grounds, which really give the baits an earthy tone that I like.

    anise

Check out Upperhand Scents. They have some awesome scents that incorporate anise. Very strong stuff. Doug is an awesome guy to deal with also.http://www.gobassin.com
  7. My M-F cinnamon seems to be dead on. I put just a touch of salt in the plastic which seems to help the color some. You can also add a drop of red. This will give it the reddish kind of tint you are talking about.

    Label??

I get mine made at Office Depot. I just took my logo down there and they did the rest. The good thing about them is they come on rolls of something like 500. They are glossy, so they handle getting wet pretty well too.
  9. I have a quick question. I am trying to remember who makes the one piece aluminum beaver molds. I have one but need several more. Was it Bob or Del? I know neither of them had them on their website. Thanks.
  10. Doug does make the best scents available. The coffee/shad has been a killer this past year on both smallmouth and largemouth. I also use the Hawg Sauce, which is fantastic as well. Great product, and a great guy to deal with. You will not be dissapointed.
  11. I use M-F's cinnamon. With a touch of salt, this color is dead on.
  12. The stores that I have my stuff in use their own codes. I was looking into them a few years back and couldn't believe what they cost.

    scents

I wasn't either until I decided to mix coffee grounds in with my plastic. I was just using the coffee, with no color. It made a nice light brown, kind of cinnamon color. I used this for my lizards and the smallmouth just ate it up. I didn't really like dealing with the coffee grounds, so when Doug came out with the coffee/ shad scent I decided to try it. It is flat out awesome stuff. Don't be afraid to try it because the fish love the stuff, especially the smallmouth.

    scents

I have tried just about every kind of scent available over the years, and I used to use lurecraft scents before I was introduced to Upper Hand scents.(Doug's) I cook them into the plastic. I also add a bunch of drops in the bags of my own personal baits. The coffee/ shad scent and the Hawg sauce are my two favorites. Give them a try, you will not be dissappointed.

    scents

X 3 Doug's scents are top notch, and so is his service. His coffee/ shad scent tough to beat.
  16. Does anyone on here make rattling tube heads? I am looking for 3/16 oz. and 1/4 oz. sizes with big hooks, something like a 3/0 size. I got bunch last year from a guy on Ebay, but I can't seem to find any info on him to get some more. His bag said Domo's Custom Tackle. I did a google search on him, but no luck. Thanks.
  17. Upper Hand Scents are some of the best scents you will find anywhere! Try their Coffee/Shad scent. It is simply amazing!!! I cook it into the plastic and put some drops in the bag just to make it twice as potent. Great scents and Doug is a great guy to deal with.

    anise scent

Upper Hand Scents Craw-n-anise scents is awesome. It gives you the best of both worlds. They make the best scents out there in my opinion. Everything they make is awesome.
  19. Does anyone want to share any multiple pour bluegill recipes for swimbaits? I have done a couple, but I am not too happy with them.
  20. Up here in Washington State, I tend to sell a lot of watermelon and brown variations. Watermelonseed, watermelon/ red flake are always at the top of the list. Cinammon colors and anything brown or green pumpkin colored with black and copper flake will just kill the smallies up here on the Columbia. My personal best seller is what I call Oxblood passion. It is simply oxblood with black flake and blue hi lite powder. Great clear water color.
  21. How do you get the nails out? I keep bending the rivet and I still can't get the dang thing out.
  22. What are you guys using to cut your aluminum? Thanks.
  23. I have been looking at my options for inserts and was wondering if aluminum tubing and a flaring tool would do the trick. I wonder how hard the aluminum would be? I also am not sure if you could flare both ends of the tubing and still get it in. I don't know if you could flare the aluminum with a nail or something like that. I just saw it for thirty some bucks for a 12' roll. That would make a lot of inserts.
  24. Looks great! A lot more organized than mine:)
