  1. I don't know anyone over at Xcite either, but I sure hate it for them too.... It seems like with the economy being down, a lot of bait companies are all of a sudden enforcing their patent when in the past they would let things slide. Just a passive observation- nothing to actually back that up....
  2. I have designed a soft plastic bait and I need to have a two piece aluminum mold produced so I can test this bait's effectiveness, action, etc. I think it will be a real winner. I'd say more, but I need to protect my idea before I start disclosing anything.... I am sure you understand. I emailed Del-Mart through the contact page on its website to see if they can assist me and to get some more information about the process. While I wait for a response, what should I expect for the cost of the mold? I admit I DO need CAD work performed to get the mold created. I do have some drawings of what the bait needs to look like and do not anticipate that it will be too difficult to turn the drawings into a CAD drawing and then into a mold. I guess what I am saying is that I do not have an actual bait to send to anyone to help get the mold created. Creating a mold is not within my skill set....... neither is carving, etc. I need someone to take some drawings and turn them into reality.... What do you think something like this will cost? Is there anyone besides Del that I should contact about possibly having this done? Based on my research and the posts on this forum, it seems like Del-Mart is "the place" and is my first choice if they can help me with this project. Thanks! Acuna
  3. I don't disagree- the Rage Tail seems very different than the NetBait Paca's. However, some of the baits really resemble the NetBait products. I've noticed at least one retailer (Xcite) has already removed their Flap Jack from their website- surely in response to this lawsuit. OT- but I think it is crazy how the RI guys have completely disregarded enforcement of their Sweet Beaver patent...
  4. Ran across this while doing some research https://www.rfcexpress.com/lawsuit.asp?ID=56380 I am not trying to stir the pot; just wanting to make the folks out there aware that it looks like NetBait is enforcing one of its patents. I couldn't view the actual petition, but I assume this is over the claws.
  5. HI all, I want to give pouring soft plastics a try. Here is the deal, my current house does not have a garage and the only real possible place to pour would either be outside under the carport (when the weather is nice) or in the kitchen. If I am doing small batches and heating the plastic in the microwave do you think the kitchen will be a safe place to pour (assuming the wife okays it)? My main concern is the fumes issue.... What do you think?
  6. Oh man, is this the final chapter in the GrandeBass/Hag's Tornado wars? It is funny how the Lake Fork Tackle Zig Zag, which predates both of these baits, never gets mentioned when all the bait copying fingerpointing gets started. In any event, I am not suprised. I have spoken with Tommy about this and when he told me Stanley made an offer and had injection equipment ready and waiting, I knew it was just a matter of time before one of the "big boys" got in on the action. The Rattlesnake/Tornado is extremely popular in Texas. I have also heard that the Academy "house brand" H20 is about to start making it's own Rattlesnake/Tornado knock off. The whole debate is funny to me because although both the rattlesnake and tornado look the same in your hand, they perform very differently underwater. I use both depending on the situation. All I know is I am waiting for someone to do a tapered ringworm mold similar to these baits so that the small time lure maker can produce some (Bear and Del- PAY ATTENTION!!!). I know the ring design on these baits is what has prevented a hand pour mold in the past; perhaps with the Bear hand injectors you can finally get some done. I know that I, for one, would be ALL OVER THEM!
