  1. Looking good, how do they swim?
  2. I've been using a rotisserie motor for the past couple years...works great.
  3. Great to hear from ya and welcome to the board.
  4. Ballast in the flat sided bait is directly above the the hook hanger. I'm useing a wire through, so I don't think the weight is shifting. I thread the wire through the barrel sinker so it's centered, when trying the different split shot weights, same thing, I clamp it down to as low as the mold will allow. I'm baffeled.
  5. I'm having trouble getting my flat sided Tenn Tuffy type foam bait to swim. It just dives to one side...no wobble. Tried 1/8oz and then 1/4oz. Tried no ballast....lol...I'm using barrel sinkers...is that acceptable?
  6. Just a thought, haven't tried this yet, but how about epoxying the rattle directly under the bill in the throat area (touching both the throat and the bottom of the bill)?. Sure it will be partially exposed, but shouldn't hinder performance of the lure. I'm sure Mr. Bass wouldn't mind AND it would be loud cause it's only partially buried in the wood.
  7. I don't know, but I've had big bass come up and chomp on my red and white bobber...not my red n white lures
  8. Local craft store, I like to spray it on just before top coating.
  9. I just mask the bill with masking tape...I've also used foil, but prefere the tape. After painting, I then remove the tape and top coat a 1/16-1/8" overlap on the bill. Hook hangers I trim off the top coat with a paper clip for the first 10 min or so on the drying wheel. Then if any when completed, I nip it off with a razor knife.
  10. I've not tried them yet, but how about old CD disks...or the ones aol sends out? They sure do have lots of flash, that's for sure.
  11. Ya got er down...looks awesome!!!
  12. While dissecting a messed up lure to eyeball the weight and the rattle system they used, I was surprised at what I found in there. A 22cal. short shell casing with 2 pieces of #8 shot for the rattles...ya can't get much simpler than that.
  13. I have no clue where the rest of the foil went..I lined the entire mold, both halves. Just an experiment I had to try just to see.
  14. Hey Jed, thanks allot!!! I pay $1 per brush at a local crafts store...this will save me, BIG TIME....thanks again.
  15. Those look really cool. Thanks for the info. :-) Here's an experiment on castinf a foil bait with the foil lined mold. Didn't turn out to swift...but may find it's place....doubt it though...lol
  16. So, maybe no more pin holes with Feather-Lite, eh? Ok, the 16 pound foam is foam, is Feather-Lite a foam or dry's to a hard plastic? :
  17. Whats the difference between Feather-lite and 16lb foam? Pro's.... con's...can you use feather lite in resin molds? Thanks:)
  18. I figured if anybody on this board knew about them it would be you. I would LOVE to get my hands on some of those. I used to catch a ton of trout on them loaded with fly larva. Let me know if you locate any, ok?....thanks a ton, Terry
  19. Years ago I used this lil ice jig called a Pin-Min. Came on a card with all kinds of colors available. Does anybody know if these are still made? I believe they were hand made somewhere in Ohio.
  20. Have any of you foam lure makers ever tried putting foil in the molds before pouring the foam? Thought being, a foiled bait bonded right in with the foam? Might be an idea worth trying or forgetting about.
  21. Thanks everybody. You guys can use those tutorials anywhere you want. I tried uploading the Bomber one last night, not sure how that came out yet.
  22. I recently tore a wood crank apart. Low and behold, a 22cal. short casing with a steel berring inside was the rattle/ticker. Thought that was way cool, eh?
  23. Here's a tutorial I did today. I take no credit for this, thanks to BobP, KingKarl, and Dean McClain. The post by BobP http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=5601 got me started thinking maybe I can do this. Thank you everybody, these are your ideas and they worked!!! Only thing different I did was to use the Exacto Knife handle. I made several in a matter of minutes...thanks again every body!!! It's guys like you that make this site great!!!
  24. Your help will be very much appreciated. I'm one a these "gotta see it" guys to know what you're talking about. A picture is worth a thousand words. So to do a tutorial, just take pictures at each step and then describe what/why your doing each step of the way to the finished hook eye. I did one a while back on Making a Bomber Make a web page adding your pictures, then the description and what you're doing, then upload it to a web site. If you don't know how to do this, I'd be glad to host it for you on my site. Just send me the photo's and a description for each one and I'll upload it for you. Shoot me an Email, let me know, k? terry1clark@peoplepc.com
