  8. Yep, I deal with Dixie, but they want $9.95 handling fee for orders under $45 plus shipping, would be one expensive bottle a paint. I cannot find it locally, believe me I've tried.
  9. They are 2" including the bill. They are old baby n's so I was told, the bodies wers bone color plastic, not clear. Yeah, I'll bet these will be great for smallies in small rivers and streams...fly rod crankin????
  10. Wee Lil http://www.tclarkcustomlures.com/1tkenny.jpg' rel="external nofollow"> Cranks These were FUN!
  11. Anybody got an extra 4oz bottle of Createx Leaf Green?
  12. Hi Michael, the Mud Bugs are made by Fred Arbogast. Not sure who had em out first, Fred or Bomber Lure company....be something to check into though. The mud bugs are similar to the Bomber, but not identical. Wonderful bait, no doubt about it..
  13. Bill, I top coated the lure body first, then top coated the bill the next day. I tapped a toothpick to the line tie to keep it straight up and Kept the top coat 1/32" away from the actual holes. I had pics of this, but had taken pictures outdoors just before and "assumed" they would be ok. They weren't, too dark to tell what was what, so I couldn't show that part, sorry. I'll know next time. Thanks for the kind words.
  14. I use a Mavica MVC FD 73 made by Sony. They take a regular 3 1/2" floppy disk. Take the picture, put the floppy in your computer, size it if ya want, then upload. Best camera I've ever owned, and got it on Ebay. I would highly recomend this camera to anybody....well, I love mine.
  15. Completed Bomber I had fun making this and look forward to making a few more. A special thank you to Falcon for the loan of his Bomber to use as a model, AND a special thank you to my good buddy Bill Minaeff for the metal for the lip. Couldn't a done with out you guys, thanks again!!!
  16. Dagnabit, I just saw one earlier today and can't remember where I saw it....was loking at antique lures though...do a yahoo search, you'll probably run in to it.
  17. I have a badger 155. For blending over other colors I use a 1 to 1 ratio of water and paint...comes out like a mist. I need an airbrush for fine detail work, they say you can make a hair line or pencil thin line with mine...but I'd love to see somebody do it....know what I mean? Wonder if you can buy finer cones and needles than what your airbrush calls for? Anybody know? Oh, I use Createx airbrush paints.
  18. Those are awesome!!!! I would also love to know how ya did the mad dad paint scheme. What kind of paint, what kind of air brush? Wich I could get uniform dots and detail out of my ole badger.
  19. These are all refinished baits. I sand them down to the bare plastic or wood also. Especially on suspending models where weight is critical. Then primer, paint scheme, then epoxy top coat.
  20. First thing to do is make yourself a jig so you can adjust for sharpening every tool you use. The angle is most important, pay close attention to the previous angle and follow that as a general guide. DO NOT get your tool overheated during the grinding process. If it starts to turn dark from the heat, STOP, you'll take the temper out. Take it slow and easy. The ones I have had to sharpen took very very little to put an edge back on. "Jig" I used a piece of 4x4. Cut the top at I think was 45 degree angle, (looks like a podium people speak/preach from) On the back, add a hinge to attach to like a small table top to your podium, attach the other half of the hinge to that. Now you have a podium with a top on it, and a hinge on the back, right? Now cut yourself a little wedge, couple a 45's will do. Now when you want to sharpen a tool, slide your lil podium up to your grinder, look for what angle you need, push the wedge between the top you made and the top of the podium till it matches the angle of your tool. Note: this works best if your sharpening stand (podium)and your grinder are attached to the same piece a wood, bench, what ever.
  21. For me, this was the most frustrating part of lure making, split rings. I could paint 3 lures by the time it took me to add 3 split rings and hooks to one lure. I've been unable to find any split ring pliers that really work and I'm not going to gamble on a more expensive pair that don't work neither. SO, I got this lil vice, put a curved edge Exacto Knife blade in it, open the split rings by placing them on the blade (they stay open) then add the lure or hook, then finish it off with needle nose pliers. The vice is like the third hand I needed.
