  1. I have a band saw, drill press and a sander. Those three tools have done me well for the past five years.
  2. Here ya go Husky. Onion Skin Paper - 9 lb Onion Skin Paper 25% Cotton in Ream
  3. We're planning on a "fishing clinic" sometime next month. I'll cover lines, rods, reels, soft plastics, spinner baits, and of course crank baits. Also planned is Finesse fishing, Drop shotting, Pitching and Flipping. No way would I expect them to remember a quarter of it so I'll have a little booklet for each of them. A couple of the boys were talking while I was talking. I interrupted them and said HEY, there will be a test after your lures are done. If you don't pass it then I'll keep the lure you made. WOW did they come to attention...too too funny...I AM having fun and so are they. I'm looking for some cute "common sense" questions for a joke on them. Questions like: If a plane with 700 passengers crashed on the border of Canada and the United States, in which country would they bury the survivors? If you have one or a couple, please email them to me. customlures@tclarkcustomlures.com and put "pop quiz" in the subject line so I don't delete it as spam. Thanks guys!!
  4. Hello gang. Today was our first class for these five high school boys. To say they were excited would be an understatement. We got as far as cutting out and sanding their lures, making a ballast weight and hook eye and getting them glued into place. Here's some snap shots of me and the boys working on their lures. ( had a ball and so did they) Stay tuned for class number two.
  5. Unable to locate the creeper wings at this site.
  6. LOL...sorry about that...I knew I saw the name somewhere before...an oldtimers thing. Great tutorial!!! Feel free to remove this thread.
  7. http://www.ohiogamefishing.com/community/showthread.php?t=90702' rel="external nofollow"> Here's an impressive tutorial on a lexan bender. Pretty cool.
  8. I add the lip before sealing the wood or painting. i've tried all the different ways and for one reason or another this works best for me. Another thing is I do not remove the white film covering the lexan untill after the top coat is set up. I use a razor and cut it just enough to have an 1/8 " of clear lexan showing once the lip is installed. I also drill a hole in the lip and rough it up so the epoxy has more to bond to inside the lip slot. Even though I don't remove the white film, I still mask it to keep paint from the edges. I ALWAYS remove the masking tape before top coating. Once it's all set up and safe to handle the lure I remove the white film on the lexan and buff the sides. The lexan is clear as can be and the lure just looks better with a nice clean lip. imo
  9. Looks like the wood is swelling, danger danger danger. Maybe dry it out in the sun really good or ask the one that made it.
  10. They are $5,000 - $10,000 from the get go. google it.
  11. Haven't used it...have had no call for it neither, BUT if I were to use it, I'd use it OVER my regular top coat of D2T.
  12. Most likely it would end up being a "sinker" after paint job and top coat instead of a suspender. I agree... keep on throwing it.
  13. That does look way cool.
  14. Robert, those are awesome looking baits for sure. Ya should a seen my first efforts....lol
  15. Guess i misunderstood the original post and took "fill" for "seal". My intention was to point out if you seal the wood you wouldn't half to worry about filling the holes. Musky baits are large like the striper baits are...or maybe they ain't? Anyway, I posted with good intension's no harm no foul.
  16. Lots in their right mind that are in the know. Here's just one thread on the subject. Most of these guys fish the salt. If the lures hold up well in the salt then surly they would be ok for fresh water. blo ? - SurfTalk Go there and do a search, tons of information on the 60/40 mix of boiled linseed oil/mineral spirits to sealing the wood. One word of caution, never discard the rags you use to wipe down your lures that were soaked in boiled linseed oil in the house or basement. They are well known for spontaneous combustion.
  17. I think it was "Stripers on line" or something like that. They talk about using "boiled Linseed oil" to seal the wood including the through wire hole. Then no fillers needed. ***You buy boiled linseed oil, don't boil linseed oil***
  18. Thanks a bunch redg8r!!! It works fine now.
  19. Firefox is what I'm using. I hate IE.
