I could be wrong, but I don't think that's paint. I read somewhere that Rapala perfected a shrink wrap process for covering their baits. BUT, I could be dead wrong on this one.
Well said Dean and you are exactly right as to why I want a Tennessee handle. The rod is not in direct contact with the bait...the line is.
The initial reason for this thread was the hope that TU had at least one rod maker. I guess not so I'll look else where, but I always come to TU "first" for my fishing needs.

I made that mistake ONCE and never bought any again. Though the bodies are nice, it was just too hard to try to get things square and in-line on a round body.
They look much better than my first three.
Good job on those, the only way to improve is practice practice and more practice. The more ya do the better ya get.
