  1. If you are looking for action try marabou (fluffs). It breathes in water. You can also try human hair.
  2. Absolutely great news. Congratulations Tubeman.
  3. Excellent post dwendt1978 - really like the two quotes.
  4. Tight Line Anglers Products 440 277 1511
  5. Very interesting concept “to have handmade all parts of a lure from the raw materials”. I read in a fly tying magazine where there are people that still make custom fishing hooks for fly tyers. The art is in the tempering. Unfortunately I can’t remember the issue…..
  6. Drich Yes, but would recommend using an in-line air drier.
  7. Leave the lead - saves wear and tear on the pot also.
  8. The Ott lamps cover the full light spectrum (daylight). Haven't tried the LEDs - yet (they have some with up to 24 bulbs!). Seen one that had an attachment for your fly tying vice.
  9. Forty years – WOW. It’s the artist in you is taking over the thrill of the hunt.. Hopefully you have another 40 years to balance it.
  10. Try shawncollins.com - if he doesn't have one listed, he can make one.
  11. If I got a bad haircut – might not protest the establishment – certainly would not return but I would tell family, FRIENDS, co-workers, and anyone else that would listen… The original post was a vent (we all do that), nothing more, and nothing less. It wasn’t a call to arms to ban Barlow’s.
  12. "Ott-lite" - they have different models, ebay maybe.
  13. What happen to freedom of speech? Don't like the way your hair is cut - you go to a different barber, that’s understood. I still have issue with Barlow's –they sent me the wrong mold and I had to pay to return it to get my credit. If that’s bashing them –sorry. They are still on the bottm of the list.
  14. Mike Welcome aboard You are looking for micto mesh - anything smaller than 3 microns. Have some scraps if you wnat to try it - PM snail mail.
  15. Brian You will still need to use an inline valve or a valve mounted on the fluid bed. I use inline valves because I have tubing quick connects mounted to the bed. The valve acts like a pressure regulator. When switching colors I change the bed and cup - don't have to clean anything. Seldom use the fluid beds anymore - mostly for single colors.
  16. Brian An aquarium pump will suffice – if you want to try the micro mesh screen PM me your snail mail.
  17. Thill The wire bender you have is a Thompson – precursor to Boggs (parts are the same). You should have a vise with a threaded base that will attach on the left side of the bender (your pic shows the threaded hole on the bed). I have one that has a Thompson 360* vise and one that has a Herter’s vise attached.
  18. Would have thought at least twice that.
  19. No - my bad, I thought you went all the way through and plugged the hole. I was thinking (part of the problem) that you would drill a small pilot hole on the inside cavity at the eye location. That would be the center of the eye, close the mold and drill through both sides, using the pilot hole, with a larger drill bit. Then insert the plug – that’s where I was wondering how you would secure the plugs. Your reply cleared up the foggy thinking – thnx. Have you thought about doing the shad 9?
  20. Excellent mold modification. Do you have a pic of the back?
  21. I put Barlow’s way down on the list because of a shipping issue. Granted, I’m not an enterprising business but I am a customer. Had ordered 6 molds from them a while back. They messed up and 1 of the 6 was not what was ordered. I had to pay the shipping to return it for a credit. Wonder if they realize how much business it costs them with their shipping practices…. Haven’t ordered anything from them since then.
  22. Welcome Brian Like to see some of your baits. There is a gallery section you can post in. I like tying fly patterns on UL jigs - works out pretty good. This site is wealth of info..
