  1. Jigsbydirk You will get better and consistent results with your finished jig when you use a dedicated curing oven. For application (depending on the size of the jig) you can use cadman’s technique or try using aluminum foil – both time consuming. For larger jigs an alternative technique is using brushes but would require a heat gun or a controlled heat source. You can use an open flame but it is a lot easier using the heat gun.
  2. cadman Sorry - thought I could help - couldn't find any.

  5. Ted Will you send you some more when I get home. Should get ahold of Jim at PBB and split a 1000.
  6. Howghunter The search function is awesome - cuts down allot of time on waiting for replies. You will find, as mentioned, when you get into specific questions you will get more responses. It is done and there are a couple of options for you, hilts makes a kit. For materials, some members use bondo and there are some high temp RTVs also. Welcome aboard.
  7. For jigs, talk to the people at Tight Line Anglers Products (ad is under TU sponsor). You might want to try powder painting spoons – dayooper has an excellent “how to” tutorial on his web site.
  8. ????.That is an awesome bait. Have you or your buddy hooked into anything yet?

    Troublemaker Spinnerbait

    Very impressive work!!
  10. Try a word search for "tying jigs" - threads at the bottom are probably more helpful.
  11. Welcome back Bryan - you got some good looking baits.
  12. Couple of years back Color Rite use to sell a blue saphire (has blue glitter in it) powder paint. Not sure if they are still in the powder paint business.
  13. Dark Save the effort. Get the mold that has the next size up. If you are fishing grass – you might want the larger sizes anyway. Calculate how much your time is worth and the job. It will probably take more then 2 or 3 hours - that pays for a new mold. Free hand and a dremel are not good for molds.

PB My apologies – if you don’t know, you don’t know. Can understand wanting to see the best in everyone. Sterling Between vises and the molds – still ahead of the game. You got to take a beat every once in awhile.

    eBay Heads Up

I got a similar email last night: “Just to let you know, everything they were (mcr2006wow) and have been (blacksun385) selling is stolen merchandise from Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits. This morning they were fired from GYCB and will be arrested and prosecuted to fullest extent of the law. Thank you for your cooperation! You can send the pictures to rcolby@baits.com” First of all – the person who felt that they had to notify the Ruperts – thnx for a big nothing, you all most jeopardized the investigation through yourself righteousness. Second point – and this is to PB - you took a warning that could have potentially saved other TU members the same grief and dismissed it and alluded that a member was trying to drive prices down on ebay bids. “Guys, I think it is bad for you to trash a seller if you have not had prior business with them.” Nobody was trashing anyone – the attempt was to warn people. “Their feedback looks legitimate.” – Yeah 4 negatives. “blacksun385 looks like they have a recent connection on overstock fishing tackle.” – You were right (although not convicted) they were stealing – from their employer. “If I were the seller and saw people saying these thing about me on a board with this many members, I might think someone was trying to keep the price low so they could win them for a cheap price.” See second point…… I don't know what the truth is but eBay seems to be a trusted place for business and they will help members resolve issues. Yes and in this matter – have received absolutely zero help from ebay – they aren’t even responding now. Now ebay is flooded with allot of stolen property and I’m sure I will probably have to return the first set of molds – stolen property.
  16. Fluff up your paint (shake it with the lid on tight) before you load the brush. Try camel hair or make-up brushes. You might be too close to the SB when you are tapping. Practise.

    Jig Molds

I have over 600 molds and do not smoke them either. Never found the need to – think it’s because I use bottom pour melters for the majority of the pours and pre heat the molds. Most problems that I have encountered have been temperature of the lead (usually too low) or the angle of the mold during the pour (have to let the gas out). It’s more a personal preference whether to smoke a mold or not – some swear by it and some don’t. Keep your molds clean and lightly oil the hinge. Be very careful – second chances are rare when you are dealing with heat and melted lead. Take your time and lay out your project before you start. Don’t plan on doing anything but pouring lead, no interruptions. Check out the Do-it web site.
  18. fish devil Like your video nice technique - pm me your snail mail if you want to try some micro mesh. It minimizes the volcanos...

    eBay Heads Up

The auction ended for 16K Gamakatsu 35* 5/0 hooks. How often do you see that style of hook in that quantity - especially when the same lot ran a month earlier? Hope the best for Monika7365. Final cost $45/ship + $315/16,000 hooks = $.0225 per hook. Think that one of the lots hawnjigs won was ~$.0348 a hook. That’s a real deal for Gamakatsu hooks - if you can get it….. Ebay being trusted - probably yes, but extremely non-effective. From what I understand, from previous posts on this site, even if you win a pay-pal dispute – if there is nothing in the account – you collect nothing. Hope you can get something hawnjigs. I reported mcr2006wow for not receiving my molds when they had 4 negative feedbacks and two days later they suspended the account clearing out all transactions. Don’t understand why they do that either. Have not heard from ebay yet and more than likely won’t. Ebay, like anything else, is a crap shoot…

Same ad - the only thing different is the location. Wonder how many other accounts they have. Looks like they are reselling some other hook lots also. Phone # sounds like it's up north. I think these POSs are in AZ.
