  1. Sometimes if you want the plastic to float put a little wax on your line. It'll make your bait float, that is if you want it to float....
  2. When ordering molds from the lurecraft catalog a lot of the molds seem to be "the mold." I have ordered some molds, and I'm sure that some can vouch for this one, some molds look really good in the catalog, and when you get them home and fire up the microwave, pour, and they dont turn out to your expectations. Remember when ordering molds the length of the whole worm, or bait that you order might not be the true size, it also states this in the catalog. The mold size is measured from end to end. You might think you are ordering a 6" curl tail worm, but actually by the time you pour it and stretch it out it might be eight inches. If you have doubts you can call Dave at Lurecraft and he can tell you the actual size. By calling you can save yourself some dissapointment when the mold arrives. Dont purchase hardener unless you plan on pouring some bigger swimbaits or saltwater baits. Good luck
  3. Does anyone have any leads to any manufacturers that sell "paint for plastic?" I know that Castaic uses it on their swimbaits, im looking for something similar, for airbrushing. Thanks!
  4. The plastic comes out shiny, and salt doesnt even effect the mold like silicone molds, its pretty neat....and inexpensive..
  5. I was just reading some old topics on plastic mold sealers; like modpodge (spelling). I make my own plaster molds and use Elmers Concrete Bond. Elmers Concrete bond is a lot more durable then the modpodge with less peeling over time. It takes heat well and also has a blue-grey finish when cured. One to three coats with a good quality bristol brush will do the trick with minimal brush marks. You can also bake it in your oven for about 3 hours or so at about 170 to 200 degrees to cure. Good luck and good fishing.
  6. get off the puter! and take some pics of your grubs!!...lol darren
  7. Does anyone use silica sand while casting their senkos...if so where can you buy a small amount to try it out.....how much do you use?....how much does it effect color?
  8. Does anyone know the scent formula to california custom worms?...or anything close...someone told me it was a cherry-salt brine combo...any help on this would be appreciated..
  9. i have a tube bait cutter that i made....it is very similar to lurecrafts. i originally bought lurecrafts cutter but it wasnt wide enough...i went out and bought the stuff and made mine.....im going to start selling them for about 15 bucks..
  10. i purchased a tube mold from delmart.com. He doesnt have a tail cutter yet but i made one of aluminum and a bunch of razor blades...it works real well......
