Hey Yall! Fished with one fine fella today! Yall realize in that photo of me above, I could'nt hold my arm out any further to make that fish look any bigger! We caught bigger ones as well. Dang if that TROUT fisherman didnt outfish me 12 bass to my 7, but hey .....I was picking out his bait! (Issue is, i was using the same ones ) I also got to see George fish that "Rat" that Nathan makes... That thing looks REAL in and out of the water! What a bait Nathan! I also took George over to the house and showed him my shop as well. He has been sworn to secrecy , but he has seen my latest invention..... It's for turning 100's of lures and it is HIGH TECH... I'll be letting yall in on it in the coming weeks as all the parts are milled and the unit is assembled..... I want to thank you for lunch George and definately thank you for those fine looking flies you tied for me. I went through each one when I got home! You fellas ever get the chance to fish with someone off this board, take them up on it....Its a great experience to take it to the lake. Yall be good! Chip

Yah Tim, I have had to develop something that could be sprayed and dry in to touch minutes. There is a wide gap between durable and quick dry and I have had to try and pull the two together. Tim... I also wanted to say that you are quite the inspiration as I have built my business. Not just your paint jobs, but your post, site and successes. CUDOS! Yall take Care! Chip

I checked the hourly at accuweather.com and we should be in pretty good shape at 7:30 - 8:00 am, but sure we can swing by my shop...before or after... Nothing special at all about it Chip

Howdy Gents! Well, we are racing against the clock and the 11th hour to fill Joel's lure trays, gas tanks, tires, promotional shirts/clothing, Senko Boxes and about anything else as he is getting ready for the home stretch that will hopefully get him and his pit crew back to the Superbowl of fishing next year!!!! The Classic BABY!!! I am custom painting to his specs and based on his research of the areas he will be fishing. Any of you fellas fishing out of Northwest NY ought to get over and watch him weigh in.... I will be posting what he is going to be taking with him over the next week as paint dries and hooks are ring'd on.... Here is the first installment: These are yet to be clear coated.... Take Care!! Chip

I posted the formula after I saw this post and did not know if I was the intended: ____________________________________________________I do have a patient on the mixture and a register on the trade name in process. I do however want everyone here to know that I will openly share what I do for hobby use. Please email me anytime with questions... To answer your questions below, this is a 12 month R&D project that I completed with a business partner. He is a chemical engineer and worked in the coating industry. All of the materials are available commercially though you may need to be a business to purchase. I have now removed the formula, but email me if you want some more info. and YES!!! I still like Etex over Devcon!!! Yall have a great day! Chip p.s.: I mean it.... email me anytime!!! I enjoy the banter!

This is one of the photoshoot cast off photos that I doctored up for the upcoming article. I am trying to think of a way to incorporate "Tackle Underground" into the article during the interview in hopes that it makes it to print... I was thinking that or hoping that they will ask how I got started, etc.. and I can add that "Resources are available for all wanting to take the craft seriously.... One great source of info is www.tackleunderground.com" or something along those lines... You guys have any ideas along those same lines? Chip :

Very Sharp~! Lay your substrate on a flat surface and lightly sand away the burrs and the image will appear in the stencil with nice clean edges. Chip
-
Thanks Guys!!! Mr Hughes! With all your write ups!!!! You are an inspiration!!! Hey I can not release the name of the magazine until after the interview and releases/legal stuff is done..... but I can say that it is not BASSMASTER But it is well known and a great mag that i have subscribed to for years.... It will be a fall to late fall article and when I get the go ahead... I wil release the name.... Chip

Guys... a great way to make stencils is: I use a dremel on a dremel drill press stand. I use a Dremel #107 engraving cutter. I then draw my image on thick plastic sheets... (A milk jug works great if you dont have access to plastic sheets) Draw your image on the plastic and then use the engraver to mill out the design.... I then take some sand paper to deburr the plastic stencil I have made by laying the sheet of plastic flat and running a sanding block over it until all that is left is a clean stencil.... Try it! It works great!!! Chip

Hey All Yah Crankys! Man Have I Been Fishing....... but we still find time to get by my favorite spot on the web!!! I found out on Friday that I am being Cover Storied in a national Fishing Magazine with a 240000 circulation!!!! These are some of the pics we have been taking for the article...... It is my hope to mention Tackle Underground (if possible) in the article as a great place to learn to make baits for hobbiest and budding business capitalist! Take Care!!! Chip

Today, My wife called at lunch and told me that our township was hosting a 5:00 PM fishing tourny as one of the events kicking off the festivities for the July 4 holiday.... We live in a neat little "MAYBERRY" type town... Well I left work 45 minutes later and was on the way home to get ready. There was a great turn out. We had 45 boats on a 2500 acre lake. I could not find anyone to fish with me, so I headed down and certainly felt out-classed by all the club fisherman there..... Anyhoo, I fished until 8:30 and headed for the weigh in.... Here yah go...My tripod was my back seater: I ended up with 10 pounds 6 ounces!!! and I caught 16 Larrys during the 3.5 hours. The closest fella behind me had 4 fish for 5.3 pounds... Talk about feeling KING OF THE LAKE!!! Anyway, I got a donated BPS Johnny Morris Bait Caster and Rod, hat, shirt, picture for newspaper, and a free lake pass for this lake's 2005 season (worth 50$). Not to shabby! Not bad on the rod cuz I broke the rod tip on my first fish. I stepped on it getting the fish in the well. Aw and I was using: Pumpkin 5 in. Senko, 5 in White Kanami "Senko", and one of my rattling cranks (a Smokey Joel colored 8 foot diver). Yall Take Care! Happy July 4th! Chip

Yah...I've always used Devcon 2 ton glue all the time for lure lips, wire hook and line eyes (I dont use screws) and just about anything that needs to be glued on. Thanks, Chip
