  2. Hey Gator, I know its not the sizr you are looking for but have you looked at these. http://www.staminainc.com/packaging_materials/crank-jig_containers.html Is anyone here using them?
  3. I use to hunt ducks all of the time, I even did some guiding. When I started college I slowed down to the point I quit. I haven?t started back yet. I keep saying I will but I haven?t done it. I can?t lay down a fishing pole long enough to pick up my shotgun. We have some of the best flooded timber around when the river floods in the winter. We are just a short walk to the White River National Wildlife Refuge. I live in a hunters and fisherman paradise.
  4. I am about 25 miles east of Stuttgart. I am about 2 hours from Memphis. It?s an Ox Bow lake on the lower White River. The lake is Maddox Bay.
  5. I will definitely let you guys know if I will be there. I think I just read something about hushpuppies I will have my son with me also if that is ok. I am going with my wife to a job related training. While she is in class we will have the day to ourselves. It looks like I will have Oct. 3rd and 4th all day. We will be headed back home on the 5th.
  6. I will get in touch if I make it that way.
  7. How far are you guys from Nashville? There is a chance I will be in Nashville from October 2-5th. Just thought if someone was fairly close I might stop by.
  8. I like the idea of using Professional and Hobbyist based on the Tax#.
  9. #12 Alliance of Independent Tackle Craftsmen
  10. cullin8s is doing his homework I like it
  11. Ok, let?s throw out the thought of ratings right now? it was just a suggestion that?s all. I still see benefits from this if nothing more than a ?LOUDER VOICE? for the custom lure maker. This could help a lot of people get their foot in the door for bigger things if they so desire. Not everyone possibly knows the steps to make it to the next level. The association could possibly help in this endeavor and provide an open door that might not exist otherwise. If done properly this could be a great endeavor. I believe the thinking process is well on its way and it won?t be something that forms overnight but instead something that will progress as time goes and we can grow with it.
  12. I am all in? I think if it is done right it will help the small lure maker out. I don?t mine constructive criticism. I consider myself a beginner who has had some great teachers here at TU. I take my tackle making serious but I still have a lot to learn. With an association and its standards set I will know how I would rank against the experts in making baits and painting. I can use the association as a tool to help improve my baits. Maybe one day I could be in the higher ranks as a luremaker and painter.
  13. I looked at the foil on the internet and done some reading about it. I just haven?t had the time to play with it yet. I can see some advantages with it and I have some ideas to try with it. The fish carving guys use wood burners to create their scale detail. They make custom tips shaped like the scales to burn the elliptical shaped scale in the wood. I was thinking of making a tip similar to that and adding a few foil scales to the sides and back with the foil. You could even make the scales look broken and missing in spots.
  14. I have had fish smaller than that in my livewell...
  15. WOW!!! Nathan... great find
  16. It sure does but have you tried tissue paper. You can get water decal paper that is clear and can be used with a printer but it cost more than tissue paper. From what I have seen the tissue paper looks good but I havent tried it yet... Here is one source http://www.decalpaper.com/inkjet.html Husky?s Tissue Paper technique http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=5922
  17. Paasche and Badger both make good brushes. It takes time to learn how to use any of them so be patient and practice. Ask questions when you have problems, there are some of the best painters around here at tackleunderground.
  18. Oh I can?t wait to have a dedicated work space
  19. Heating lexan softens it so you can shape and mold it. You have to be careful not to over heat it or it will form bubbles. It can even be heated in a oven and then molded. I have even bent the lips ?on the water while fishing? using a cigarette lighter. Heat it up lightly and evenly and then bend it. To cool it so it will stay just dip it in the water. Desperate times warrants desperate measures?
  20. Hey thanks guys... I am going to have to get a order here soon. I just wanted a little extra on the paint before I clear it :!:
