Hi I?m looking for a treble hook that looks like the old galvanized salt water hooks of the old days. Not the nickel ones the ones that had a silver color to them. I?m looking to put them on some plugs that I am making to give them the old-timer look. Thanks for any help
Hi I?m looking to add some weight to my first wood plugs that I made and I was wondering what to use to fill in the holes for the belly weight. Would a wood putty or glue and saw dust work better. Thanks for any help.
Hi all question what is the ratio of plastic cups to ounces of lacquer thinner for making a sealer for wood lures? I would like to know what size cups you would use big, small, clear, or white and so on. Thanks for any help.
I?ve seen some glass eyes for sale on ebay awhile back. The ones with a small piece of wire with a glass eye on each end and I was wondering how does one attach them to a wood lure? Do you drill a hole and glue them in or something like that or is there a special way to put then in. Thanks
I haven?t had a chance to use it yet. It?s a Bomber Long A repainted. I?m practicing on these lures so I can learn all the different things about painting then I am hoping to work with some wood and some foam. I would like to make my own mold. But that?s the future. I have to work on painting now before winter starts here in Michigan during that time I?m going to work on a mold and all the other things. (No heat in the garage). Thanks for your response.
My first attempt at air brushing was interesting to say the least. A lot of things to work out like keeping the nozzle from plugging and drying up during painting. I?ve been using auto touch up paint boy it dries fast. I figured I would go that way be for I sink a lot of money into better equipment. If I decided to stay with it and it?s looking that way. Is there any help some one can send this way on the right equipment I should be using. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking at some of pictures that are posted in the photo section I would say that you guys are pros. There are some nice lures in there. Thanks
A cheaper way to go is to find a place where they do plating in your area. I have a friend of mine who has lures plated by a company that does things like baby shoes they charge him about a $1.00 a lure but he does large numbers of lures at a time. He also tells me that they can do wood lures to but it?s a little more complex to do. This is a bomber Long A I had done for me it was a painted lure when it started out. I hope it helps.

I was thinking of reinforcing the Bondo with a steel plate with holes in it to stiffen it up when I clamp it together to maybe get a little more life out of it. I was wondering if I should use a syringe to inject the foam into the mold but I am not sure if I should use 1 or 2 or more spur holes. I shouldn?t get a head of myself I don?t even know what kind of foam to use yet I?m still doing the research. What I am trying to make is a minnow type bait about 5 inches long
Thanks for the info Rocfish. Does the bondo flow good or is it thick where it has to be pressed into the pattern I never used the stuff be for? What would be the best foam to use and where would I get it at?
Hi what is the best way to make a split lure mold like the ones where you pour the foam in? Is there one material that works better then another? It looks a little complicated I mean the ones that I?ve seen on this site. I see that some molds have aligning pins and some don?t is it easy to put them in? I?m looking to make my first one but don?t know where to start. Thanks
Hi Does anyone know where a person can get there hands on some paint like what was on some Bomber lures? I think they called it G-Finish or G-Flake. It was highly reflective in low light. Thanks for any help.
