  1. Why not try out M-F, Ozark, Calhoun's and LC brands to get the plastic you are looking for and the characteristics you are looking for. I for one do not like having to add softener or hardener after I buy a plastisol product. Its not hard or anything, I just like it when I get "pour" ready plastisol. Most companies will send out a sample at a minimal cost. Jim
  2. Molds are sold pending RomeoD's decision! Thanks to all that inquired!!! Jim
  3. Still available. Not to pressure you but I have many others interested so please let me know as soon as you can. Thanks to all that inquired! PS paypal id: jim@ghostbaits.com Jim
  4. Del's diamond tail in 6.25" or better is PERFECT!!!! Used them all last summer with many fish to show!! Add float bubbles and these babies will support a 4/0 wide gap EWG with no sweat! Bubblegum and lime green were big winners for me! Jim
  5. Dead on Cadman. You have to run the eye hook from the bottom of the bait up into the head. Reverse of normal.... Won't dmage the bait to bad that way but a spot of glue will help with the tear. I have started using the pinch on weights that are being made. You can use a normal hook and just pinch whatever weight you want on to you hook. Jim
  6. Like new, makes perfect frogs every time. Retails for $105. Might have one more to sell right now. I own 15 of these molds and I am looking to sell a couple to buy other molds. Real nice frog bait!!!!! First come, first serve. Paypal only: jim@ghostbaits.com Jim
  7. I tried covering it and you will get the same result because the plastic is shrinking. Seemed to be worse with the covering and hole... There are other inserts available and you can even put a mojo weight in if you modify a little. I am thinking about having a lead mold made for inserts that are varying weights. That way I could mold in an 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or whatever..... Might make enough if others are interested..... Jim
  8. On that dimple Jim....You can try to re-fill that tiny area as the plastic cools OR you can wait until it is shrinking in and put a few drops just on the end area, not worrying about overfilling. In fact, be sure to overfill just a bit but only on the very end. Then, before removing the bait, but after it cools well, take a razor blade and slice the excess off even with the mold cavity. Viola...no dimple!!! This works great but is a pain to do on all the baits. I only do it on the ones that I send to a couple of very particular customers. The rest go with a small dimple. Jim
  9. Nice bait. If you send Bob a note, he can cut you some in aluminum. He has the bait programmed and can run it when time permits. www.bobstackleshack.com Jim
  10. Totally hijacked this thread. Sent an email back when I received the other one. Been at least 20 minutes..... I'll send a PM as well.... Jim
  11. No...sent you an email to that regard.... Jim
  12. I saw that!!! Was a good segment! Jim
  13. They are just one sided molds. The baits are nice though and you can pour them pretty good on the back side. I will say this, these are easier to make a 2 colored worm or add a tail color better. The aluminum molds cool sooo quick you get lines unless you put the mold on a hot plate... Jim
  14. LC's #99 mold is almost exact as well. I am going to list 3 in the Trading area if interested... Jim
  15. LOL Gary!!!! Thanks all. Congrats to LC, Mike and Fish_n_Fool as well. I am still waiting on my copies to arrive here in GA. I learned all I know from members here and continue to learn from "old" and new guys/gals alike. My hat tips to all that continue to freely share information with members here on TU so that we all can enjoy the hobby we have come to love! Jim PS Over the weekend I fished a team tourney and I caught a 5.3 with less than 20 minutes to go til weigh-in. Even better than getting into a magazine was the feeling at weigh-in when we cashed a check for third ($275) on one of my assassin craws on a jig! Ya'll know how it is catching our your own baits!!! Priceless!!!!!
  16. My note from the patent search guy was that our idea was in the public domain for so long that it was a public idea now and we could proceed whenever. A patent could not be issued on the idea now. He just suggested to copyright the directions on the usage and packaging so that that info could not be infringed upon.... Jim
  17. I have put bbs in my mold for the claws before as well. Just out of curiosity, why would you want the claws to sink? I thought the whole stand up and wave the claws deal was way more realistic and the fish respond to that. Maybe a defensless craw is more appetizing!!!! Jim
  18. From day 1 when I first started using my Upper Hand Scents a loooooong time ago, I told Doug his stuff was GREAT!!! Glad to see the great selection and all the awesome fish caught with your scents Doug!!! Now about that idea we had sooooo long ago..... Jim
  19. Just to add to the list of paints... I use something called Paint for Plastic by the Plaid company. It is water based so clean up is easy and it does not have the chemical smell at all. My painting skills are VERY limited and I have not tried to shoot this paint through an airbrush. It does work very good for dots or markings. On the downside, it will rub off after a little while unless dipped over. I bought my 12+ colors at Michael's for about $2.39 for a 2oz bottle. Jim
  20. Parafilm is very inexpensive and will seal those lids just fine. We use it in the medical field to seal open bottles or samples to prevent evaporation or changes to the samples. I'll get a link as it comes in a roll. You just tear it off and wrap it around whatever you are trying to seal. It is kind of like saran wrap but more gummy. Jim Link to parafilm... http://www.labdepotinc.com/Product_Details~id~0~pid~300.aspx
  21. So when you pour a bait in the mold, does it stick to the mold surface now or do you have to add something to the mold surface every time you pour a bait. Just curiuos as the Strong Cast I used still had to be sealed with elmers. Jim
  22. BTW... There are a lot of software programs out there that are less than $100 that you can use to process cc's. You still have to have a vendor number and a merchant account though and those are the costly pieces of the puzzle. Tip on the expo for your baits though.... My expo guys buy a small fish bowl and put one of my baits in it rigged with teh correct hook and a small bullet weight pegged. Then they throw in a Zoom or other salted bait for comparison. As the anglers see my baits float off the bottom and the others lying on the bottom, the sales are simple!! Just as thought for you that is simple and cheap but goes a looong way!!! Jim
  23. Maybe the show will have an ATM close by!!!! Good luck!!! Jim
  24. Adam: I struggled with the same issue. Finally decided to just sell baits to a company that attends the shows regularly in different areas around the country. They handle all the transactions and just send me my $$$. Win-win for me!! Seems the expense of the machine and the processing fees will eat into your profit, especially after springing for the booth space and electricity. Jim PS Could you just set a laptop up and use paypal right there to run the transactions? Or even contract with a company that will process the cards over the net from a laptop/PC. Might be more cost effective... Just thinking out loud!
  25. Not yet as the motor has a plastic shaft. I am worried that it will just melt when a metal shaft is attached. Thinking I will just buy another motor and actually use this one to make ice cream. Only have $6 in each one I bought. If I find a way to rig it up, I'll post it up. Jim
