  1. Legs kick a little but wait unitl you see my version of the spped craw soon.. WOW!!!! Thanks on the pics. I am getting ready to shoot all my baits in the outdoors. No lighting issues or cropping issues!!! The small BUGz are really made for jig trailers or on a finesse head like the giggy heads or my StandUp headz... I'd be glad to send you a bag of "samples"!!!! Always have extras you know!!! Plus I am good friends with the guy that pours them :-) Jim
  2. No patent as far as I know on the Javallon... Bob's split tials are AWESOME!!!! Jim
  3. Bob cut it...Zack drew it.... Not sure if the Javallon's are really what you want though. Have you tested them?? I have had several colors/sizes and not caught 1 fish on any!! After some research, I have noticed that most of the fish cught on these baits are on a down-shot (drop shot) rig and NOT by swimming the bait.. Not a popular rig for many anglers here to fish in the US. The ds for these would be very big including a large hook... Just my 2 cents.... Jim
  4. Is it on your site Del??? I might want a few 2 piece deals... Jim
  5. Just to let ya'll know. This a 2 quart pot and the model number is 2CN. There is no stirrer attached. The custom made (by Sta-warm) piece that holds the pot up is made so that molds can fit under the pot with no special rigging. I have pictures available now as well... Jim
  6. Check out mine..... They are similar to the ribbit but I slimmed them down a bit so that the hook gets through the plastic easy.... Look under Frogs on the left side of my list.... Jim PS I made my own molds but am considering having them machined out. We can get a discount if we go together to a mold maker....
  7. I actually know the guy that started Spike-it and still owns the company...Amazing what a chemistry degree and the love for bass fishing will get you!!! The stuff is great (except for carpet). The chartreuse is real good but the blue is really AWESOME and hot right now!!!! I like the garlic flavored myself!!!! The fish seem to like it too.
  8. CJ...Not sure I have your email address... Jim
  9. Before I do the eBay thing, anybody interested???? I know I'm not supposed to list this here but the traders post area is gone... email me for details..pics... Jim jim@ghostbaits.com
  10. Thanks for the great info guys!!!!!!!! I am going to get some silicone oil to try out but the WD-40 worked pretty good! Jim
  11. Hey tw53487.... You won't get to many responses to this one but I will give you some ideas... Initially, you won't pour or sell to many at all. I think something that most forget is that you have to be good (and creative) at marketing. You can have one of the best poured baits in the world but if nobody knows about it, you won't need to pour many!!!! Taking the time to learn how to pour good baits and working up great color recipes is also a focus in the beginning. Be ready to pour a pile up just to give-a-way to your buddies and friends that will be honest with you. While you are practicing and working on your "hobby", lay the foundation of your baits coming out into the market. Do your homework on pricing, color charts, styles, etc. Focus on a few baits and expand from there. The same with colors. Be wary of all the "pro staff" inquiries in the beginning. You need to be careful how much and to who you give your baits away to. Most just want something for nothing and will do little to help you along. You may pour hundreds or thousands a week and ship out everyday. It all really depends on how good your product catches fish!!! That ends up being the bottom line so practice up and give it a run. If you have other questions or thoughts, this board is the place for them. Remember to search out questions also as a lot of great info has been posted here in the past. Jim
  12. Kim & Shawn from Lurecraft gave me the tip after a new RTV mold of mine gave me the "non-shiny" baits.... WD-40 worked great on one of the molds and the baits shine like aluminum molded baits. The other mold did not respond to the WD-40... Jim BTW.... WD-40 is a fish attractant also.....
  13. I use or have used Devcon 2-Ton epoxy (Walmart), Envirotex Lite (Hobby Lobby, Micheal's Crafts) and high heat spray enamel paint (Auto stores, Walmart) to seal my homemade molds. All work great and give a nice shiney bait. If you use the high heat enamel, be sure to use at least 2 coats to seal and wait 2 days before pouring. Each listed above will need to be applied at least 2 times as the first coat will absorb into the plaster or putty and not really coat... Jim PS I have not used any valspar yet but I know others have...
  14. Well, I'll just have to go visit our local nuclear reactor site later tonight!!
  15. OK...so I'm not as crazy as I thought!!!! I knew I had seen it...Now...where to get my hands on some of that stuff for some experimentation purposes!!!! Jim
  16. I recently saw a website that had soft plastics (handpours) that stated "injected with liquid salt". I can't find teh site again but will go through my history.. Can salt really be liquified at room temperature??? I know you can suspend it in many liquids (most, if not all are NOT compatible with hot plastic). Any insight on this or adding silica to baits? Seems as though new additives or new mold materials are good topics to be talking about again. Jim
  17. I'll admit I took the post a little wrong also. I also remember when I first started pouring and what a mess it was. Having recipes is great but you really need to be able to pour well before any colors really matter. Once you start pouring, you will want to figure out your own recipes anyway and will just use a few from the cookbook. Have fun, good luck and remember "The only dumb question is the question not asked!!" Jim
  18. You can't blame him for taking the money and running!!! There will be so many knock-offs that they would have had to compete with anyway!!! Nice to see somebody do some good with a great, unique product!!! Jim
  19. I can only go on the swimbaits I have poured for my use but super soft plastic gives far more action but is torn up easier than the saltwater. Seems that somewhere in the middle, maybe a mixture of the 2, would be better than either. Don't quote me on this last on as I did not get out my scale but I think they weigh almost the same in the finished product. The saltwater bait is more dense but doesn't seem to weigh much more. A scale may prove otherwise on that !! Jim
  20. Up in the northern waters in the US (and many other areas), pike, musky and walleye (to name a few) have plenty of teeth and could never be throw on shore!!!! Not unless you wanted to pay a huge fine if you got caught !!! Musky and walleye tournies are a prevelant as bass tournies up that way!!! I think his accent gives it away !!! Jim
  21. If you need any help Jay, give me a call or email!!! Rick and I are good friends and talk all the time. I'll send you a pm in just a few minutes..... The snake should really call in some HAWGS!!!! Jim
  22. WOW!!!! Glad bass don't really have any teeth!!! Jim
  23. My wife has a lot laying around. I wonder if it is heat resistant??? E-tex lite is working great though!!! Jim
  24. Not waiting smallheadz, just trying to get more organized as I go forward. I have done my own taxes for my corporations for years but was interested in how others were organizing. Basically, anything you use or do can be written off IF you maintain the correct documentation!!! When I go on vacation, I always visit a tackle shop or 2 with a card and samples.....I write off the whole trip. All the baits I buy, molds, materials, etc. are written off along with anything I use to make molds. Cellular phones, websites, etc are certainly included in deductions also.... Jim
