  1. Send a PM to Siebler Custom Bait or get on chat..he can help you out!! Jim
  2. Ok...here's my take. Bottom line: We all pour to catch more fish or help someone else catch more fish!!!! All the other factors such as colors, glitter, more/less salt etc. hopefully end up at more fish!! I don't think Chris (Al's worms) pours his weapon worms thinking about just making a buck or Jake (woodsac) designed his rocker just to have something to do with his time !!! They have the passion to catch more fish. Look at BigZ and his molds or Javier (BASS8BAITS) and his infamous 4 color pours...plus new guys like Charlie (njfishrguy) and his sticks. I've received baits from swaps from guys (like Mojo and BigZ) that you just couldn't put a price tag on!! All because we want to catch more fish or we want the guy/gal we send our baits to to succeed!!! Check out some of the hard bait paint jobs and designs sometime from LaPala, cullin8s, B&B (I could go on for days with the awesome stuff all the hard bait, jig and spinner bait guys do!!!). The passion to catch more fish is "injected" into our baits, one by one. I really don't think you can get that from a bait at your local sporting goods store!! (IMHO ) Jim
  3. Nathan: She's 7 going on 16!!! She said my 4 year old son helped!!
  4. It went like this: To: My Dad/Jim O'Connor W-hat are they really made of? O-h, they really stink! R-eally you make about $30 when you sell them. M-aking them looks fun. S-ometimes it can be fun watching you make them. Merry Christmas Dad Love, your daughter Olivia Lynn O'Connor Out of the mouth of babes !!!!
  5. Looking for more of what the customer is getting for their hard earned $$. Of course, I have my own ideas but I would like to hear what others think the benefits are!! Jim
  6. Joe; I'm sure you will get a variety of responses but my baits go directly into a tupperware container with cold water. So far, I've had no problems with deformity. I put them on a towel to dry and then right into the bag with some worm oil. Jim
  7. cam: What model scanner do you use?? Those scans are awesome and way easier than all this photo crap!!!
  8. Bought some of the same molds. Devcon 2 ton works great!! Tip I got from another TU member: if you order more molds from John, ask him to send then uncoated and he will.
  9. Ya..give it up Jake !! You could be a professional photographer from what i'm seeing!!
  10. Hey Jake: I'm an IT guy, buy and build all my own stuff too. Have you ever been to evertek.com?? You have to have a wholesalers license to buy but they have great deals, especially if you log on to their site right when they are putting stuff out (about 8pm pacific time) Their auction website has some good deals, just have to watch. Thanks all for the info on the cameras. I guess my Fuju 2MP is going to the kids!! Jim
  11. I've only caught 3 but peacock bass have to be at my top. Awesome fighters!!! Then smallies, spots and then largemouth. i'm like Jaime though, i'll take what the good lord gives me !! Jim
  12. Any recommendations on what a camera should have?? Any brands??
  13. I am interested in testing Bass baits. Here in Georgia i'm limited to the Largemouth, spotted and hybrids but do get to lakes in nearby states with smallies. Sign me up!!! Jim
  14. OK..maybe because I only have 1 zoom option I have to get to close?? Also, do you save your images as jpegs or what?? Maybe that is the difference in how they look?? Mostly my outside shots are grainy when I reduce them down to the size for posting on Ebay or TU... Guess I need a new camera..Oooh honey
  15. Well, here is outside lighting try. Little better!!! I didn't know I was going to have to be a photographer also
  16. Maybe I can just send all my baits to you for my pics Javier !!! Thanks
  17. I just can't get good shots of how great some of my baits look???!!! I've got a lighting unit with "natural" light bulbs. I have a nice camera and use the setting for closer, detailed shots. Also bought Paint Shop Pro to help but when I reduce the size down..the detail of the bait goes. You can hardly see the color of the bait or the glitter??? I must be doing something wrong as I see some great shot of baits out there!!! Jim
  18. OK..you guys saw through my shameless try at getting FREE baits from TU Members !!!
  19. I have LC's blue hi-lite powder. It barely changes the color of my plastic?? Is that how it looks prior to pouring?? I can barely make out the tinge of blue in the plastic. If I add blue color, it turns real blue. Any advice/help appreciated as I made a great mess with that stuff this weekend !! Jim
  20. I think it would be cool to get "volunteers" to review baits made by TU members. We could get a standard list of things to include such as weather, water temp, all that jazz. Members offer up their baits and then there is a forum to report the results. Might be hard for some hard bait guys to send more than 1 bait out to various places in the country but soft guys could get more than one pack out. This would stimulate more interest in guys looking towards other TU members bait when they decide to purchase new stuff..IMHO... Just somthing to think about!!! Jim
  21. Charlie: I used to put scent and worm oil mix in. now I cook scent into the biat and coat the baits with salt. Just preference but as BassnG3 said its not as messy with just salt on the outside. Your sticks look great!!! Now...will you share with your buddy you have the tournament with..LOL : Jim
  22. May bring more guys over to the site that are soley interested in fishing baits than rather making them!!! Nice idea chirmy!!!
  23. Az: Do you use plastic or glass?? I had some plastic ones but have switched to glass as the spigot had rubber in it on the plastic ones and the plastisol broke down the rubber Nothing leaked as I store them upright but I had to switch them out. i haven't seen any color changes or problems with consitency however i don't leave them for very long (probably less than 30 days). Longer sit times may give a problem. jim
  24. Javier: That is exactly what I started doing. Sometimes I don't have time to pour but I have enough time to mix up a couple of 2 cup Pyrex cups, nuke them, mix'em well and let them cool. I store them in the cheap tupperware containers from wally world. Then when its time to pour, just break out the color your looking for and..BAM..your pouring in no time. Having the most requested on hand like that has helped me get the baits out quicker and make the most of the little time I already don't have !! Jim
  25. KYBuilder: Sounds like to be politically correct around here, your going to have to coat the front half with e-tex and the back half with Devcon Or would that be the front half with Devcon and the back half with e-tex :
