  1. Super tutorial!!!! The possibilities are endless!!! Thanks for even more great ideas. Jim
  2. I bought some RTV molds off Ebay and had the same problem. The oil trick works like a charm just be sure to coat the whole mold surface. Small brush works great and then you can work it into the tight spots. I reapply after about 8-10 baits with my molds and store with a thin layer also. I tried heating mine but that just didn't do the job. Good luck!!! Jim
  3. Anybody use cut tails and have you seen a mold for them??? I'm going to start pouring for a few guys and 2 have already asked for cut tails. Anyone???? Jim
  4. The weather has started to cool down here and the fish are really moving!! Look forward to Z's bait as this should be a great time to test them. I'm charging up my camera batteries now!!! Jim
  5. Any recommendations on a good CAD program to design baits?? Do they need to be a certain type so that the mold can be cnc'd?? Any advice appreciated as some CAD software is $$$$$$!!! Jim
  6. Look forward to getting them. I drop shot in a lot of different environments (farm ponds, lakes and rivers) Real excited to try out your baits!!!! I'll keep the camera close as I'm sure there will be plenty bucketmouths to photo. Jim
  7. the folks "selling" the hook-slotted stick baits are all using injection not hand pour. Makes a big difference!!!! Jim
  8. Send them to Jim O'Connor, 403 Central Pl, Valdosta, GA 31601 Thanks!!!!!
  9. Or do you know where to buy that type of cnc mold? I have found most anglers in the beginner to moderate range really like the hook slot on the senko type bait as it is easier to rig. Personally, I think the bait rips to easy with the slot but hey, whatever... Jim
  10. Out of silicone caulk. I wanted a mold to pour just a few slug-gos. It was real easy!!! Just work the bait down into the silicone slow and wait. I used one of our old rubbermaid containers that was shallow (with the promise to the wife that I would buy a new one to replace it). It did take the mold about 36 hours to dry but it is great. I will being pouring some baits in it sometime soon. Jim
  11. on them first, just to be sure the baits release. Jim
  12. Got a few molds from Ebay and wasn't sure if I need to do anything special (remove baits slower from mold, heat mold, etc.) with these molds vs. the aluminum molds. Any advice appreciated!!! Jim
  13. I had bought some stik baits from him/her and they are VERY comparable to Senko. Fall rate, wobble, shape and also has the hook slot. Great baits and I would like to see if he/she might share some secrets. Jim
  14. color really doesn't seem to matter. This is definitely the hook for stick baits and finesse type worms. After changing to these my "hookup" rate went up. Jim
  15. Can I use model paint (testors) from Walmart?? I have Devcon 2 ton for top.. Any advice appreciated.. Jim
  16. After reading about and seeing the many AWESOME baits on this site, I bought some TU 5" minnows, some aluminum foil tape (great idea!!) and some Devcon 2. I have foiled my bait and it looks OK. Now, should I buy the Testors paint kit (about 15.00 at Wally world)?? Also the eyelets for the hooks are loose in the plastic body, just a little super glue or will the Devcon do it? Thanks to all the great ideas as this is going to be a blast!!! Almost as fun as fishing!!! Jim
  17. TM has suggested a pearl copper with copper flake. I meight even add a little red. So many colors...so little time!!! Jim
  18. like a Senko, it looks more like a Tiki Stik. I don't see an egg sack on his molds on the net. I would guess it doesn't matter much to the fish!! I like your idea with the pour and will definitely give it a try!! Any favorite colors for you. I guess the watermelon flash has produced the best for me. Green glitter seems to really get the fish going down this way. Thanks!!!! Jim
  19. Thats all that matters with any bait you throw!!! Either help you cash a check or get some satisfaction when you rip a few lips!!! I've also found that when I pour the bigger stix (7" or 8"), the lighter the better (or else you end up with an anchor almost). lol Jim
  20. in South Georgia and North Florida are shallow so you need a bait to fall slower otherwise the fish never see it. When I head to other lakes that I know are deeper (more than 6 feet deep or so), I use a higher concentrated salt bait. I just mark the bags fast fall, slow fall, somewhere in between fall!!! Jim
  21. Anybody know any other way to get in touch??? Thanks!! Jim
  22. The colors seem to be endless and the price is RIGHT. Our local ceramic store will sell me 10 3/4oz jars for $10.00. I choose the colors. That should be enough glitter to last a lifetime!!!! I'm just not sure about that type of glitter. I guess if it is between 0.008" and about 0.062" its OK. They carry a lot of iridescent colors that look interesting. As soon as my plastic comes, I'll try some color/glitter combos out and see what happens.
  23. Trying to pour some 5" stick baits that resemble a POPULAR brand out there. Just want to pour my own for me and a few buds. I've beenon Del-mart and Bob's but can't choose between the stik bait molds and the SLIM stik bait molds. Which is closest to the Senko? Thanks!!!! Jim
  24. I work in Ocilla (near Tifton) Fish some GREAT farm ponds at least once a week. The nats are about killing me now though, along with the heat & humidity!!! Jim
  25. This site is AWESOME!!! I have read post after post and am going to pour some 4" stick baits. The colors I use most are watermelon flash and rootbeer. Think I've got the watermelon from the sticky but how about rootbeer?? Thanks!!! Jim
