Travis and Cullin(Dwain) like big magnums as well as I do Check out these toads along with these stripers(sieb will like them) This is not an advertisement, although I wont hide the fact that this particular guide is among the most loyal and best friends I have on earth  By the way,he was on the tour for several years and fished the classic as well but realized his calling was guiding.Anyway enjoy the photos. These are truly some nice fish.B&B http://www.fishlanier.com/id11.html
2. LOL thanks guys! New I could count on you I was looking at this as well.My wife is a PA (physician assistant)in the laperscopic surgury field.Guess she needs to show me how to spell all that as well :-D One would think with an engineering degree I could spell better :-D Any way she told me that the technicians use uv adhesives to bond plastic surgery tools and poly tubes and such together as well as they use it in some surgery techniques actually in the body. She told me it was made by a company called dymax. You are correct Skeeter and Spo they have to use speacial eye protection. She said the stuff they use bonds in 2 seconds as well. And they use a speacial light as well that can be pinpointed to a specific area. I contacted dymax and they will take some general information from you as to your application intentions. They will then send you samples for testing free. http://www.dymax.com/ The guy I spoke with told me that they have all kinds of formulations that cure at different uv strengths and said was very possible to get a formula that did not require the really exspensive lights but that it would cure a little slower.Best thing is (if i did not mis- understand him) the stuff is completly safe to use as far as VOC and harmfull vapor.Only draw back is once cured something like accitone would dissove it.Well guess that an't so bad. I think I will try to persue this more because I huff enough dangerous fumes as it is.And since I refuse to get away from lacquer i guess i should cut my exsposure down in other areas if i can. Thanks for saving me the trouble of searching amelesly(sp) for that nuclear bomb that guy was inventing lol.I will keep u posted B&B
3. A recent thread on Bill Dance Outdoors caught my attention. You can read it at the link posted below. I call your attention to the 14th or 15th post in that thread. Please correct me if I am wrong! If we follow the logic in that post, does this mean that 99% of us here at TU are not Lure Makers? I have only been at TU less than a year but noticed this guy named Carolina Chip must have been a big influence to alot of people here according to his claim. I was wondering with his 31 years experience how many of you at TU he influenced.I remember this guy being around on TU when I first joined but he dissapeared. Does anyone know why? Were we just amatures in his veiw? As of 5/23/05 this thread was deleted. http://www.billdanceoutdoors.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=007251 Thanks B&B

7. I hereby give anyone permission to copy any patent I have (up to this date relative to fishing) or duplicate them for personal use and profit. Disclaimer: This does not apply to my 3 machine patents. 2 Utility and 1 Design. Just wanted to razz a little LOL sorry. PSS. Not wanting to boast but the part about machine patents is true.LOL
8. I was having problems with the PC (powder coat) holding up to the riggors(sp) of a day of 100 or more cast into heavy cover and slow rolling bladed baits off and along bottom structure. This one just went through a day just like that and wow!!!! The finish was undamaged. Thanks Cavu for the tutorial and every one else for all the corrosponding threads. They have helped me greatly. B&B Oh Yeah, before I took the pic I kept bending this one back and forth until it broke. Notice how clean the break was with no cracking LOL

16. Dwain,as with any subject there will be many with interesting information to respond.Man! what a good subject to post here. I cant say for sure that Bob was the sole person to start this crazy and wonderful thing we do with custom lures.I can say the he has been a big influence on me. Bob came up with some pretty good color schemes back when there were only just a few to choose from, and most of them caught fish. Dale Sellers gives Bob a lot of credit for influencing his work.I think that Hughes was a taxidermist back then,(I could be wrong) and Bob had some influence on Tim as well.I think that Tim and Bob may have worked together at one time.(I may be wrong about this as well)Maybe guys like Tim Hughes (is he still a moderator?) could shed a little more light on the subject. Last account I had of Bob was he was still in the Missouri area. The last time I spoke to Bob I believe he was in the electrical buisiness.Think I might try to contact Bob sometime in the future and get his take on the subject.Maybe he could give a little history on who or what influenced him.
17. Sorry Steel Pulse, I did not read the post correctly- my bad! I would highly recommend powder clearcoat. If the aluminum is shaded (toned with paint) then when you clear it be sure that your paint is fully dry.Water base paints can handle the heat better than laquer. You can purchase some clear from component systems http://www.csipaint.com/ if you call ask for kurt. You can take a heat gun and 1 pound of clear ($12.00) and clear a bunch.B&B
18. http://www.devcon.com/devconfamilyproduct.cfm?familyid=107.0&catid=15 works very well- I also use it to make prototype jig modifications.Bonds to lead very well.B&B
19. I have ran about every model Ranger made from time to time. The 518 is probably the worst for "chine walking" you will just have to drive your boat thru it or just get used to where it starts to do this and back out of it a little. If you were to continue at that particular trim and drive thru it the temp light is probably gonna come on for low water pressure. If you were by yourself and running fairly light then no matter what you do you are probably going tp see this.Put someone in the boat with you and fill the live wells with water. (just to see the difference) I run a 205 vx now with a 225 efi.By myself it will run 81 mph gps if I can drive it thru the chine walk.I might add that it will walk pretty bad until I get it on the center of the pad. When I am tourn fishing and have a partner,I could not make it chine walk for Hell.74mph is tops I wouldnt mess with it.Ranger sets those boats up from the factory to perform as a fishing boat not a racing boat.Over trimming is just something the operator needs to control.Oh yeah------ If you even think about putting a jack plate on it get prepared to have worse handling problems. Call this number and ask for CW Bond @ Bonds Marine Sales 706-795-0951 Give him the boat info and he will tell you in about 30 seconds if the motor and prop are as factory set it up.There is always a chance someone has changed something. Good Luck and congradulations on owning the best boat made Blades
20. Utah,Here's how this skirt deal works. If you buy from Stamina,Jann's,Barlow's,and most other suppliers you are essentually buying a silicone skirt that was supplied by Skirts Plus.Even the majority of skirts purchased from living rubber were supplied by Skirts Plus. This silicone material is produced in Thialand in solid un cut strips. It is then ran thru a slitter to make the pad into strads with a repeated skip. Skirts Plus almost has the market cornered so I do try to buy from them when buying bulk.Altough I am pretty sure they hold the patend or trademark or what the heck ever you call it (rockhopper probably knows) on natures edge, nature scales, silichrome, and barbed wire, I have never known them to offer it in fine strand. Enter Rat Trap. Listen to Pop :!: 95% of my skirting comes from Rat Trap.I do know that they have the capabilitiy of slitting strands for custom order.I dont know if they own a machine to do this or not.I do know that they also get some material from thialand same as skirts plus. These guys are great.Since building a relationship with them I very seldom make a banded skirt anymore. If I come up with something new I just send them a sample, and from then on I just order the skirt banded.Call them and request a brochure. It an't impressive. But the prices are very good.I figure by the time I build a skirt from scratch I am only saving about 5 cents.I will gladly pay 5 cents not to have to mess with it. Any way, take the number that Pop gave you and give them a call.Get a tax id number if you wish.Depending on how many lures you sell you may need one.If you dont sell that many lures to the public, take some advice and dont get the id #.The government will expect to hear from you on a regular bases. You will save 10%(well not exactly but close) on your purchase but you had better be selling something and passing that savings you were given from the supplier on to the government when you sell the lure you made from the raw goods. blades
21. For those of us who were, and are, fortunate enough to have had a Father or even a Father Figure to take the time to do things with us,what are your fondest memory's. Here are a couple of mine At around age 4 Dad started taking me along on his fishing trips. It seemed that every Saturday we would leave before daylight. We would go to a local community lake called Lake Well Brook. We didn't have a boat so we would borrow the caretaker of the property's 10 ft John Boat.He was a man named Roy Miller and was good friends with my Dad. I can remember it like yesturday pulling up to Roy's house and helping my Dad slide that boat in the truck. We also had to borrow the paddle LOL. It seemed like we made countless trips to Lake Wellbrook and I wondered would I ever catch a "Big Mouse Bass"(thats what dad said I called them) Finally I caught me a "Big Mouse".Odly enough I was not emparting any action to the jelly worm as Dad had taught me.No,I was standing up in the boat taking care of giving the lake a little more water.A remember that like it was yesturday as well. I remember Dad and I went to"BIG G" discount store in Athens one afternoon, and Dad purchased us a brand new 12 foot John Boat.Complete with Johnson electric trolling motor ,anchor, seats, and a couple of Coleman lanturns. I think the boat cost $40.00.It was 1969 but I remember that day as if it were 10 minutes ago. This was probably the happiest and most memorable day of my childhood. Since that day there have been at least a thousand fishing trips wev'e taken in that boat and at least 5 picture albums full of memory's. Now I fish from a $40,000 fully loaded Ranger. My Dad has never really had much use for it.He say's "Boy!!!! your'e running past all the fish when you hammer down the lake at 70 mph" and I dont want no part of it!!! Looking back now I realize that I had much more fun in that John Boat.I still have that old Gibson John Boat and the trolling motor. The boat is as good as new.I would sell my Ranger tomorrow and never bat an eye,but there will never enough money to buy that John Boat.My memory's are not for sale. A couple weeks ago Dad and I were discussing when we would take our first spring fishing trip for the year.Arguing over what farm pond we wanted to hit first and whether I could fit a trip in between my tournament schedule and other business. He is currently fighting for his life in the hospital. If any of you believe in a greater power above, please pray for him. Blades
22. http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=4698 as for a brush, you will find many pro's and con's to all brands. Do some research here on the brush subject.I think you will find some good info but it can also be so much information that you will still be indecisive.Short and sweet here is my opinion.Buy an iwata from dixie art supply period-paragraph.B&B
