  1. actually im in ontario. a few skeeters very cool. i can attest to fire ants firsthand. floridas very nice. i used to travel there every winter. as for cold. the older i get the worse winter is. im sure you can tell from all the snowbirds wintering there.
  2. hazmail centre is spelled correct. im an ole school canadian lol.. its like nickle .
  3. actually theres no polar bears, but theres dog hair. i have a muti colored lab. today its 45mph winds nor west wind chill approx 19 belo zero. the shop heaters are cookin.. reminds me of a story. years back the mounties came. with all the electric they thought i had a gro op going. we both had a good laff. i asked him if ya could smoke cedar chips. stay warm guys brrr its cold.
  4. wow. wedeal with polar bears. they dont stick to baits. baits stick to them. along with dog hairs from the sled team.. id pay 5 bucks to see a live skeeter
  5. yes they see color.. the last post says it all
  6. at 5mph the fish dont see carving. but i must admit the detailing looks cool.
  7. we pre drill eye holes with a countersink. after painting before clear coating we press in the eyes. when epoxied they will never move. hope this helps out folks
  8. thas nathan. the pricing is very reasonable also.
  9. sweet. cant wait till st clair opens
  10. its a dog eat dog world i guess. im glad i was raised properly. being in the bait biz is certainly very trying at times. thick skin is a pre requisete. one thing on this board is i am amazed at the dedication of all the builders. being willing to think outside of the box truly revolutionizes the art of lure making..
  11. wow you could do surgery compared to my shop
  12. depending on whats needed. we do trolling cranks. its action then color.. bottom line is go fish period the fish will let ya know.
  13. we t all hooks from 3/0 on standard baits to custom baits that require 10/0 hooks
  14. we do try to create a lure ready to fish.. baits get the crap run outa them. running a jointed bait for 6 hours at 4 mph is a lot of run time. also using cedar or softer woods for action and staying higher in the water column. . some guys will bullhornthe hooks. i just t them. its just a little extra time.. ..
  15. getting articles thru customs is a pain. the best way thru, is mail its slow but they will only charge the g.s.t and a 5 dollar fee. if you ship a couriers as fed -ex. or u.p.s you will be hammered by brokerage fees. they are a complete rip-off.. ordering flammables as paints and thinners theres also another shipping cost for hazardous items..
  16. we t all of our hooks before packaging. like its been stated hooks eat lures. split rings actually make matters worse. i fish st clair also. pulling baits at 4mph for hours is truly tuff on lures. then them toothy critters have teeth like razors. anyone that fishes musky can attest to bleeding.
  17. i use lacquer sanding sealer. mcdonalds and whiter varnish and paint in windsor ont. they ship. clear from rona lumber
  18. muskies try to eat props. why not tires for bass. sharks eat tarpaper rolls.. why not.
  19. stunning. thanks for the look. . love every piece
  20. nice fall walleye lures. mitcheal. i also ran out of erieu years back. im done chartering now, but spend my time on st clair. the walleyes are in leamington now.
  21. very good. its satisfying to catch fish on your own creations. and yes we are jealous here in canada. well its off to shovel snow again.
  22. also keep it above 65 degrees for hardening. here up north the cold retards dry time
  23. very impressive.i opened the pic up and was pleasently surprised.
  24. we use mcdonald and white primer. im in canada though. its dry time is fast and it holds any color paint lacquers or water based.. you could try automotive lacquer primer in white, blk,, red oxcide or grey.. i prefer white for flourescents
