I’m wanting to make a bunch of large balsa baits from magnum spook size to wake baits. I’m wanting to make them more production style. I’m thinking I’d like to make full one piece wire forms. Are any of you guys doing this? What wire size? Biggest I’ve seen is .102” are you using a v block setup as a jig for drilling? I’m even thinking of slitting for inserting the forms possibly. and help recommend for making quality baits. I have 3 wood lathes from small to industrial. There just all in storage and none have a duplicator I’m tired of paying $40-100 per bait go_rob_go@yahoo.com

no just making for me. I already made one with plunger and tip in teflon. but i could not find it when i grabbed my mold.

ya thats the way the mold maker did it to test. he only shot 2 cavaties

I just unpacked my mold. taped the spru and filled half with water but the tails were mostly empty and i was ia 5oz of water. So a solid 10 oz might work but more than likely me a little short. Ill call bass tackle tommorrow and see if they will make one a little bigger 11-12oz

Lol they don't make an injector large enough for my mold. It's 5 cavity ,I'm not even sure yet if 10 oz will shoot all 5 -16" worms

I need a plastisol hand mold injector, who's making a good one now?

how big are your rats and what kind of weight do they run? What are you using for hardware?

Im going to try making a few, and i wouldnt hurt to hear from someone who has already been there/done that. Im guessing i need to get my hands on some heavier balsa? But i was also thinking of trying poplar for the first one since i can get it from home depot.

Whats good to use for a two piece injection mold? i have some big plastics i want to copy and inject. I saw a video on Vac 50 that looked ok. There all big, the eel is 16"

Anyone try making a silicone or other diy mold on really small plastics? I can do molds with metal master but not really small plastics 1/2" to 1.5".

The best way is to use heat vulcanized silicone for a spin cast machine or jewelry mold. The best part is no warming or feat dissipation. I can shoot lead the a wire size canal and fill a small ball head or ice fly. U have to heat it to cure it

I need to buy some plastisol for my first batch of big worms. Any recommendations on tha plastisol a that are available now what you'd recommend ?

Hey all i got my hands on a vulcanizer cheap but it was taken apart and is missing parts. The MFR wants to much for the parts and i looking for a little information. What im interested in is if you guys know what is used as insulating materal inbetween the heating plattens and the frame? And if anyone have any ideas for heating elements or insulation layers. I alread have some ideas and a few parts. My vulcanizer is a Conley Accu-mold thats missing both heating elements and insulating layers. I already have a set of mold frames form 9-24" and 3 casting machines and an additional pneumatic press with a 4' opening. I really only need the small vulcanizer working(9") and i don't want to do the oven thing. Ive already vulcanized a few small type molds from a frame i made myself in the oven.

I was wondering if anyone had tried mold max. there is a hobby Lobby here and i got a 40% coupon but only comes in 1lb kit. And i can get mold max cheaper local.

What silicones are you guys using for making your own molds?
