  1. When you have placed your foil on the sides of the crankbait, do you put a coat of epoxy on first then airbrush white on the bottom or color on the top or do you just go ahead and paint the top and bottom, then coat the bait with epoxy? I am waiting to hear how you guys do it before I finish the baits completely. Thanks, Bassky:)
  2. What is a good method for painting bullet worm weights, like for texas rigged worms? How do you keep the hole clear for the line? Thanks, Bassky:)
  3. Sully, have you ever worked with pvc? I am looking into this instead of balsa. Saw some crankbaits over the weekend a guy made and they looked good. He said they are a good crankbait and he tests them in a swimming pool over the winter for running straight. Just curious. Bassky Dave:)
  4. I met some of the regulars on TU forum at the Indy Fish Expo Saturday. I just can't recall their names on here. I got to see some of their work in person and was impressed. Please reply so I can remember your names on the forum. Mike from Vanndalizer was one. Great guy, nice crankbaits! Thanks, Bassky Dave Ervin:)
  5. Try Wedding vail in fabric area at WalMart or Hancocks/JoAnn Fabrics. Works great! You can choose from all kinds of sizes. I use the smallest I can find. Cut out a piece big enough to cover your lure with about 2" extra to hold onto and pull tight from the bottom and then airbrush. bassky

    Glitter in D2T

I just finished some baits where I added a fine glitter to D2T, just on the top of the lure. I mixed 2 batches. One with glitter, one w/o. I brushed on the glitter D2T first then added to the sides and bottom just plain D2T. Turned out nice, smooth and some added accent to the top part of my paint job. Pretty easy, looks good too. 7. Well, I got some Lexan sheets. I found out a guy I go to church with works for a sign company where they silkscreen on lexan to make signage for restaurants and small companies. I asked if they have scrap clear pieces sitting around and he shows up to church with some in the .060 thickness. Perfect! Now all I have to do is cut them out or punch them out. Maybe this will help out those who are looking for lexan. Bassky
  8. Hey Clint, Thanks alot for the discount, I just ordered a PS900 today!! I too have been a Paasche man until today. Can't wait to try it out. What kind of hose is compatable for these? I have Badger, Paasche hoses? I may have to order one. Bassky
  9. What is a good source to buy balsa for crankbaits and how can I cut out or punch out lips from polycarbonate .060? Thanks, Bassky:)

  12. What kind of white primer should I use for unpainted balsa crankbaits and how should I apply it? I paint with waterbase acrylic paints and I have some clear plastic baits also. What kind of white primer to use on these too? Maybe some advice on an item I can pick up locally? Thanks, Bassky
  13. Fuji Alconite guides, go with the new guide concept system, a lower profile, closer to the blank application for more sensitivity. Bassky
  14. CBrs, How do you get the balsa wood finish smooth as a baby's behind before painting? Thanks, Dave
