  1. I am very interested in the skirts that you are talking about. I would be looking at purchasing by the thousand if thte prices are right. I would be looking for tarantula colored skirts, motoroil or similar color, black red and purple, all of which would be flake, except for the tarantula and motoroil. redspinlures, for aussie fish.
  2. unlike the other post of the trout I am after just a small one running up the back of the lure
  3. Im thinking of creating a crankbait, that has an insert routed into it to accept a back fin insert, this would be used to hold scent, and be long and high enough to inpart a wave int he fin during use. If any of you plastics guys can come up with something, especially how to hold it in the body during use I just think that is would be worth a try, not only would it be more visually appealing, but it would also mimick the one one thing that most lures don't have (a back fin). 4. I have found quite a bit of information from looking at nature websites, and fish carving websites, as well as from some airbrushing techniques and guides, many are available if you look on the internet. I did see a rubber scale applicator available on oneof the carving websites, and if your interested in using some other sool stuff look into printing foils, e.g. foil stamping as these can be added before hand using a heat source.
  5. I read a few of the articles, but they seem to have dissapeared from thier website if anyone has any ofthem, can they please email them to me at redspinlures@exemail.com.au
  6. in the russian page links, a simplified version of this would copy extremely well http://www.tackleunderground.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=7258
  7. I wish I had seen this earlier, and others should go to the links and have a look, much better than most duplicators I have seen, I might try to make something similar myself, using my router. good link worth a look thanks for posting.
  8. I dont think that this has been metioned before on this website, but has anyone here tried using Printing foil. I used to use it at work at one time, and it would seem like an obvoius choice for this type of work. you use a heated item to press the foil onto your item. I know it works with leather, paper and other items.
  9. try mirco mark tools they have wire benders that would handle this size. http://www.micromark.com go fishin for redfin, with redspin.
  10. .6mm to .8mm mig wire bought by the roll is a good way to buy. I get about 2000 spinners per roll, I find it also very good for saltwater as it is strong and takes a beating. It does need to be straightened, but this is done easily by dragging it between two clamped together pieces of board, with a small grove cut in the one of the pieces. (do note that the wider the board the closer to straight it will be.)
  11. I just recieved a catalog of a spincasting mob called tekcast. pretty dear to start but looks very impressive and they also seem to offer mould making services. www.tekcast.com
  12. try local recycling yards, my local one has 44 gallon drums full of lead for very little 45centsAU for a kilo
  13. ive been using the standard envirotex here in australia, as it is easier to get. Mainly for topcoating paints that are not hard wearing. I find it to be very durable, but 2 coats are definately needed with this stuff. I do like the fact that this coating takes a nailprint, but very shortly regains its origional shape. it seems fairly cheap here. $10.00 for 2 bottles 250ml $45 for 2 bottles 1 litre. I hope this helps, this stuff is definately worth using, as 10ml did quite a few baits.
  14. I use the worth tool, but micromark has a good range of benders. Here's a link to micromark, hope it helps http://www.ares-server.com/Ares/Ares.asp?MerchantID=RET01229&Action=Catalog&Type=Product&ID=60346
  15. just auick play on words for the name. gelignite - gnat the gelignat.
