  1. This is a great looking color and I have a customer wanting me to make it for them. It is a purple color and has some blue vein in it. You can see the color here. Click the color and it will enlarge. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/descpage-RIFW.html# The vein seems to be a powder because it is swirled into some of the purple color in the samples he sent me. I see that neither Delmart nor Lurecraft carry a blue pearl powder. Is that what this is? Also, If I were to use blue highlight powder in purple plastic, would I see the blue highlight powder or would it change the color of my purple? Any other ideas?
  2. Basskat is right on. Do not worry about being pretty with your pours. Overflow them until you become good at it and top it off before it can suck back down. As soon as you see a little dimple of it starting to suck down, top it off. You even realize this. Don't look for other answers, that is THE answer.
  3. Welcome aboard ragfly. Get an aluminum mold from www.del-mart.com. I know a lot of guys will tell you to get a mold from lurecraft or to make your own to save money, but if you can afford an aluminum one, you can't beat the quality or durability. They start at $40. Ryan
  4. You can use worm oil, pam, scent, softener and I have heard of people using baby oil, but I have not tried it. I oil up my cookie sheet with worm oil and as I take the worms out of the molds, I roll them in the oil. They seem to soak it in pretty good so right before I bag them I add more. If I am bagging 25 worms, I will pile them up and put 25 drops on them and roll them around in it until they are all coated. Then I bag them.
  5. I got the credit card, too. Works excellent. If they don't take PayPal, I just use my PayPal Mastercard and it takes the money straight out of my account.
  6. I have a little experience with digital cameras. I am by no means anywhere close to an expert, though. I am using a 3.2 Megapixel camera which is probably outdated compared to what is out there now. I have used several different cameras and I have to say, there is a big difference between some brands. I started with a Kodak camera. Junk! Then I got a Cannon and was happy with it. It did not have a optical zoom so I got a Sony with an optical zoom. It is also a good camera. I would recommend getting an optical zoom on your camera. Some people may not know this, but digital zoom makes your pictures of lesser quality. Never use your digital zoom. Optical good, digital bad. You are probably wanting a "point and shoot" camera. (I think that's what they call them). If you get a good name brand with an optical zoom it will have all the extra features you need. As far as megapixels go, 3.2 gives me excellent quality photos. I think the only reason to go larger is if you want large prints (very large). I don't think a 6 Megapixel camera will give you any better quality than a 3.2 megapixel camera for computer purposes. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. To be honest with you, I am not sure you can even get 3.2 megapixels anymore. I would also recommend waiting until after Thanksgiving to make your purchase. There will be some KILLER deals out there on these. Just stay with a good name brand and don't get sucked into how many megapixels it has.

  8. Welcome to the board. I'd recommend using the SEARCH feature. You will be amazed at how much information is on this website. It is absolutely amazing. You can learn 99% of what you need to know with SEARCH and if you can't find something, just ask. The people here are awesome!

  11. My Lowrance X-135 is producing a ticking noise and it is annoying the heck out of me. I emailed Lowrance and they just sent me back an email stating that human and fish cannot hear the soundwave used for sonar. I know this. This ticking noise I am hearing sounds like to live electrical wires being tapped together. It has got to be spooking the fish. It is annoying. I first noticed it a couple months ago at a trip to Lake Powell. I jumped in the water for a swim and really heard it amplified through the water. I had my wife turn off the sonar and it stopped. Turned it back on and heard it again. Now every time I am on the water, I notice it. I turned on my sonar attached to my trolling motor and felt the transducer (out of the water). I can feel it pulse with every ticking noise. The ticking rate increases and decreases as I change the ping speed. It is happening with both of my transducers on a 2005 boat. I guess my question is, is this normal? I can't believe it if it is. The fish have got to be hearing this...
  12. I'm in the same boat. It seems like more of a hassle to order through them. I really like the idea of using PayPal, too. That is the quickest, easiest way for me to make purchases.
  13. Just curious if you are using SenkoSam's purple violet or purple maroon? The purple maroon bleeds. It gives the plastic a chamelleon look. I have been using the purple violet and I can assure you, it is not bleeding on me.
  14. SenkoSam's Violet Purple seems to do quite well for me. By the way, haven't heard from him in a while....you still alive SenkoSam?
  15. Has anybody noticed that the Yamamoto Senkos now have a warning label on them stating that they contain lead and it is known to cause cancer in California? I have not noticed this in the past. Kinami has also added this to their packaging. There has been some speculation that Yamamoto adds more than salt to his plastic. I have not looked into it, but I bet you can buy powdered lead. He has repackaged his worms into more attractive packaging and I have noticed that they seem to have more worm oil on them and seem to be a bit softer. Has anybody else noticed anything?
  16. Hmm, I am not sure if this is it, but I think plastic takes 24 hours or so to cure all the way. I could be wrong on that, but I notice that worms will stiffen up over night. Maybe you need to let them sit out longer to cure?
  17. I have seen it online in anywhere from a .5 ounce bottle to a 2 ounce bottle. I have not used it, yet. From my research, it sounds as if it is super potent. People use like 1 drop to make their entire house smell like anise. I think they take this oil of anise and dilute it to get extract.
  18. I've kind of been lookinginto this as well. The only think I have found is Oil of Anise. From what I understand it is far more concentrated than Anise Extract. anise Extract also has water in it so I have been hesitant to try it out. Oil of Anise is crystal clear, too.
  19. There was so much discussion about this and then it just stopped? Has it moved to it's own website or something?
  20. Have you tried to add some scent to them?
  21. Pyrex are for microwaves. Many guys have reported the cracking or breaking on a stove top. I am not sure I understand you logic, though. From my experience, I get more smoke from a stove top than a microwave. If it is releasing toxins in a microwave, it is doing the same on a stove. I noticed that M-F claims their plastic is non-toxicon their website. I find this hard to believe, but I am no chemist. Del, are there toxins in plastisol?
  22. 1st thing I would do is get rid of that pot and buy a 1 cup pyrex (or anchor brand) measuring cup.

    eBay store

I had a eBay store and cancelled it. They charge you $14.95 per month whether you sell anything or not. Then they take 8% of your final sales price. Now if your customer checks out with PayPal, they are getting another $.30 plus 2.9% of the total price including shipping. Let's just say you sell 1 pack of worms every other day (this would be a lot from my experience) for $8.99 per 50 pack and charge $3.85 to ship. That means you sold 15 packs in a month. You brought in $134.88 in worm sales and $57.75 in shipping fees. eBay is going to take $10.80 from their 8% commission, $14.95 from their monthly fee and PayPal is going to take $10.20 in fees. So you are paying a total of $35.95 in fees. This is 25-30% in fees. That is outrageous IMHO. I experimented with a store for a year or so. I found it was most effective when I put worms in there for inflated prices and then in every auction refered people to my store. They would see that I had a 30 pack of sticks in there for $14.99 and that would help dictate what they would bid on my auctions. When I did this, my auctions ended at much higher prices than they do now but I did not sell anything out of my store. To be quite honest with you, the key to eBay is to get people to go to your website and buy straight from there. You ARE allowed to link to your website in certain situations like to show them a color close up. When they open this link you can have a real big link for them to go to your homepage. You just can't link directly to any part of your website that you sell from. Keep in mind that if you keep your prices low in your eBay store, you will get less money for them when you auction them. If you are not running auctions, nobody goes to your store. Just my 2 cents. Hope that helps.
  24. If you contact Del, I would be willing to bet that he would send you some samples for free.
