    Any women?

I am just curious if there are any women who actively participate on this site. If you are a woman, are you a lure crafter or what is your relation to the site? Supplier, somebody's wife, etc. Just curious is all. This site is definately male dominated. Nothing wrong with that though It's a nice escape from the wife.
  3. Hey Guys, I am trying to record all the bass fishing shows I can on my DVR. Please help me out by listing the shows you know of and the day of the week and time it airs. Please don't forget to include what time zone you are in. Thanks, Ryan
  4. Last time I looked, Bob had them on his website. www.bobstackleshack.com[/url]
  5. Unless it went unannounced, Del does not have a beaver. Check with Bob. I heard a rumour that he is making a 6" beaver now to go along with his 3.5" and 4.2". I am not sure if this is perfectly accurate, but maybe somebody else can give a confirmation.
  6. Hmm... I am not too familiar with MF products. Isn't the only difference between the super soft and the regular the amount of softener in them? I assume you are adding softener to your sticks. If you use the super soft, wouldn't that just mean you need less softener?
  7. Just curious, but why would you want regular for sticks instead of super soft?
  8. I looked it up. It is Lunker City. Ok, not as big as Zoom, lol. http://www.lunkercity.com/ They make some nice stuff and sell through Bass Pro. The make the Slug-Go, Fin-S, Ozmo, and many other unique deisgns.
  9. Del, I am pretty sure this is a production bait for a major manufacturer. A few months back I got an inquiry from a customer about these. I am pretty sure he sent me a link to the manufacturer's website. It was Zoom or something like that, but I don't remember exactly. It is a nice bait, though.
  10. I did not want to really get involved in this, but it really is turning into a pissing match. Seriously, guys, if you have a problem with Del's or anybody elses products, you should call them and deal directly with them. It sounds to me like people are expecting Del or whoever else to jump right on their problem after they post on this forum. If I have a problem with Circuit City, I go down there and talk to the manager in person. I don't just post something on a forum and wait for them to respond. If I go in there yelling and screaming, they are probably just going to kick me out of the store and I am out of luck. Jim, this is not direct toward you either. You may have called Del for all I know. I have just noticed a few people's post saying they are having problems and then it is like everybody thinks Calhoun's is just going to take care of it. I've been dealing with Del for a while and I know he isn't out to screw people over. I am sure if you call him, or any other vendor you have a problem with, and explain your problem to them, they would be more willing to help you out. Del sells quality products, whether it be his molds, dyes, salt or whatever else you are buying. I am possitive we all know this if you have used one of his aluminum molds. Why would he want people to think his plastic is bad? I have had a problem with a mold in the past and they were very good at resolving my situation after I called and discussed the problem with them. Nobody ever heard about it on this forum and I am a satisfied customer. I read these posts and just ask myself, "Why are all these people complaining, yet only one person has called Del?" If you truely have a problem, pick up the phone. Lastly, I am not taking sides and saying one person is right or one person is wrong. I am probably an unpopular guy for even posting this so I am sorry if I ruffle anybody's feathers. Hey, if there is something wrong with the plastic, I want it fixed, too!
  11. The easiest colors to pour are the ones that you don't mix anything together to achieve the color. Del's green pumpkin is a real nice color right out of the bottle. It is a little weaker than some of his other colors, but it looks nice. It takes me about 5 drops of green pumpkin per ounce of plastic to get the color I like. Smoke is just a light black. He also has a black grape. It is also easier to color non-salted plastic for a "true" color. Salt bleaches the colors. It will take a few extra drops per ounce of plastic to get the same color as the plastic with no salt. If you are flouring your salt, you will not be able to match up the color without mixing colors together.
  12. I've seen them selling on eBay.
  13. The more and more I read, the more and more I like the eBay rating system the best. The customers are the ones who should judge the final product. They are the ones forking out the dough, getting the customer service and fishing the lure/bait.
  14. Tubeman, I have a few questions regarding your sta-warm. Is it one of the ones elevated off the ground with a handle on top to lift open the valve? How long have you had it? How much did it cost? Does it have a digital thermostat? High heat limit? Nozel size? Thanks in advance. Ryan
  15. Oh, one other thing... If you are pouring one sided baits, I don't think that pressure pot will work. I think that is more for two piece single color pours. It is a semi-injection type system. Please let me know what you decide to go with. I am getting ready to get one myself.
  16. Andy, I am familiar with the pressurized pot. It is really nice. I am not sure if you are a hobbyist or a seller, but that would be overkill for a hobbyist IMHO. From the sounds of it you plan on selling your baits. If that is the case, then I don't think you can beat that pressurized pot. By the way, I got a good as new 7.5 pound Arrow mixer like the one Wenesco sells you on eBay for $130. The pot is going to cost me $850 from them with the digital thermostat and high heat control. They told me that if I mail them my mixer, they will mount it for $75. I think Wenesco is marking up the mixers way too much. Arrow sells the 15 pound tourgue mixer for $540. Just an fyi... http://www.arroweng.com/electric.htm
  17. I've been thinking of getting one myself. I have researched quite a few different manufacturers. For my needs, this seems to be the best unit. What price did they quote you? You might also want to consider Sta-Warm (not good with salted baits but otherwise a popular pot), Rite-Hete, C.E.S., Waage and I'm probably forgetting one or two others.
  18. Hey Guys, I am stumped on this one. It is a very light pinkish, tanish color. Anybody want to offer any suggestions? This is a laminate worm and the customer is looking for the pinkish color to be color matched and made into stick baits. The belly color (not shown) is a pinkish white color.
  19. One thing to keep in mind...there is a minimum $10 donation per item sold. If your items won't sell for more than 10 bucks, you should combine multiple items so that it reaches the minimum. If your item sells for $3.00, you will pay $7.00 out of your own pocket, plus your eBay fees out of your own pocket. There is certainly nothing wrong with this, if you can afford it as it goes to a good cause. I just wanted to make sure you are all aware though.
  20. I agree with cranker and coley.
  21. I have not read the article, but be aware, that you are going to see many more states adopt these regulations. Keep this in mind if you are buying a boat. It may be worth the extra cash to get the lower emmisions engine. I live in So. Cal and Diamond Valley Lake is my local lake. You CAN have a two stroke here, but since I have not read the article you refer to, I don't know if it is exactly the same regulation. I bet it is. Basically, they are looking for how clean your engine runs and most newer engines have a decal on the back of the motor with how many stars it has. I think 4 stars is the best and you need 3 to get onto Diamond Valley Lake and some others. My Mercury Optimax meats this requirement and it is a 2 stroke with 3 stars. As far as MTBE fuel goes...all gas stations in Southern California are MTBE free. You just have to show a receipt that your gas was purchased in Southern California. Hey, to me it is all a fair trade off. These resitrictions help keep the PWCs and many of the ski boats off the lake. Where else can you fish in So. Cal and not have to dodge jet skis all darn day?
  22. FYI - #3 and #11 are the same thing.

I'll be flying to Atlanta tomorrow and coming back on Wednesday. I hope it pisses. I also hope my flight doesn't get delayed or cancelled
  24. Dave, do as Harley says, but also make sure you overpour your sticks. Don't worry about getting it all perfect, you can trim off excess very easily. Overpour it and watch it...as soon as it STARTS to suck the plastic in, top it off. Don't sweat your overpours, you just keep it in a pile and after you finish pouring all your plastic, you throw those in your pyrex and melt them back down. What happens is that plastic expands when it is hot and contracts as it cools. It sucks the plastic in as it cools. While the inside of the mold is cooling, the air bubbles are rising ot the top. This bubble you are seeing is just a culmination of all the air bubbles collecting together and making one larger bubble. Unfortunately, the top of the opening cools faster than the inside and many times the air bubble does not have a chance to get all the way out. By overpouring, you are allowing that bubble to get higher and by topping it off, you are melting the cooled plastic on the surface again and really helping that bubble get out. If this does not solve your problem, try pouring half a bait, let it sit for a minute, then pour the rest of it...again overpouring and topping off.
  25. Craft glitter does not withstand heat. You need something that won't bleed and deform. Del-Mart, Lurecraft, M-F and SenkoSam all sell glitter suitable for worms.
