It says my account has been suspended....wouldn't know why.... Can anybody log onto www.azbasszone.com (Del's other site) or www.del-mart.com?

Smallie - yeah I'm refering to the whole bait, not the skirts. Vodkaman - he asked for IKA like pours. I am telling him what I have. I don't have a picture up of them, so described them the best I could. I don't make them. Do we really have to go here on this thread? You had nothing positive to add to the post other than you could make those with a 2 piece mold. If you were to make them in a 2 piece mold, wouldn't you be in the same boat as to what you are accusing me of? Why go there? As to the reason I described as I did: it was the best description I could give. Had they been harder than a Yamamoto Ika, I would have compared them that way. Had they been softer than one, I'd have described them that way. I have no other reference to judge them against as I know of no other Ika pours other than the Kinami which is the same exact thing. In no way was I referencing that I would put them in a Yamamoto bag and sell them that way. I don't agree with that and was just making a point.

I just got a shipment in from Jeff at Bass Boys. He has worked for several months to get these real close to the Yamamotos. If I put them in a Yamamoto bag, you wouldn't know you were fishing a knockoff. The best part of all....no more $7-$8 per bag! These will be $4.99 per 8 pack. I have to send these in for photography so it will be a couple weeks before they are up on the site. If you really want some, though, I can put them up on the site with no pics. Colors: Rootbeer Pepper, Lemon-Lime Pepper, Strawberry Pepper, Plum Crazy, June Bug, Watermellon w/ black flake, Black w/ blue flake, Salt and Pepper Pearl, Watermelon w/ black and gold flake. www.handpouredworms.com <----all products from TU members!

I've got 100 packs for the cheapest price I could find on the internet....$22.99. http://www.handpouredworms.com/product.php?productid=16187&cat=259&page=1 And the kicker is that if you order $50, I'll ship them for free. Shipping kills on lead, but I still ship it for free. I can get more in with a couple days notice, just let me know if you need more. Thanks, Ryan

Well according to you that is about 99% of us as I am sure we all have a Del-Mart or Bob's Tackle Shack mold.

I tried to stay out, but I can't... Matt, I agree with what you say 90%....but... Your stance that everybody here is stealing and that making knockoffs of other worms is wrong is rediculous. You seem to be pointing fingers at the "little guy" when knocking off designs is a common practice in the industry. How many senko knockoffs are there? Is Zoom frowned upon because they make thier own version of a Senko? I don't think so. You have valid points that nobody here will likely make the big time by selling a copy of a copy of a copy...but do you think anybody here is really thinking they are going to make their millions doing that? For most everybody here it is a hobby. Part of that hobby, for some, is selling some baits on the side. Most of everybody here still has a regular job. Yeah, it is fun and a little stroke to the ego when somebody shoots you an email and asks if you sell your worms. So what? What is wrong with selling them some baits?? Give me a break! Isn't this how America works?...somebody invents something...then somebody improves on it...then it evolves into something else...etc. etc. That is how American has operated for the last 200+ years. If you and your "big time" friends don't like the laws, then go get them changed! To sit here and chastise people for doing what is within their legal and moral rights to do is just plain wrong! That's right, I said their moral rights! You might see it one way, but you know what, others see it the complete opposite way. Who made the first T-Shirt? I guess we should chastise all other T-Shirt makers for using the same design?? For the record, I agree with everybody that has stated it...to infringe on somebody's patent, copyright or trademark is WRONG....whether it is a large company or a small company. What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong. It seems pretty black and white to me that you don't infringe on a company's rights, regardless of who they are or what size they are. Also, Matt, I am debating the issue, not starting a flame war...please don't take the wrong way.

That is a copyright. Everything you post on your website should be copyrighted. For example, look at the bottom of my site, you will see it is copyrighted. Copyrights are different from trademarks, which different from patents. They all have their time and place. Everything article you write or a website you build should be copyrighted. Its free to do, you just have to put it. Then, for anybody to copy it, they legally need your permission. Every name you create should be trademarked. For example, if you make a bait called a "Crocket Rocket", nobody can just use this name. You can make a unique bait and call it a "Crocket Rocket" or it can even be a senko knockoff. It doesn't matter, you can trademark the name. A good example would be Kleenex. Kleenex is a trademarked name. No other manufacturers can call their tissue paper Kleenex. You can trademark every name you make by puting the small "TM" next to it. Or you can register it by paying a fee and puting the "R" and circle. A patent is a different animal all together and not worth going into here. You can search on this site for multiple discussion ont he topic. Patents are much more involved and generally cost money to get.

Nope, can't do it. If it is a similar product and the name could mislead somebody to thinking it was the same thing, you can't do it. Kind of like DeWalt drills. A new manufacturer can't develop a drill with the same color scheme and call it DeWault drills. BTW - You can trademark any product name you have for free. Just add a "TM" next to the product name and it is officially trademarked. You don't have to register a trademark. If you want to do this, you need to make sure that it is done every time you use that name. You can't pick and choose when to do it. The R with circle is the same thing as the TM, except the R with circle means it has been registered.

I've been talking to some guys and the mojo weights are causing the plastic to crack and the mojo to come out.

With 2 peice molds I use my pot for production and 2 cup pyrex for smaller quantities.

I was using blackgrape with green flakes and made it as dark as I could, but still had a couple guys not happy with it. The guys I dealt with wanted super dark. They sent me a Gambler Bacon Rind as a model. I have to say, that was an awesome color! In the end, I stuck with my black grape with green flakes, but I think that Gambler Bacon Rind color was superior. With black grape you get a blueish color. Didn't Del come out with a Junebug color? Has anybody tried it?

I'd try to get in telephone contact with the guy and ask him what he wants to do about it. Just listen to him, maybe he will be cool about. Sh*t happens. He can file a PayPal claim on you, but that can take like 30 days or so and if the mold shows up between now and then, he won't get the claim. I would at least offer to refund his shipping money. IMO, it is the sellers responsibility to make sure it gets there...other may have different thoughts. You could file a claim to get the shipping money back from USPS.

I've always like my Calhoun's from Del-Mart. I never had a problem with it. I also have tried MF and it is a bit softer, but smokes more when cooking. LC, my buddy used exclusively and he liked it. They all have minor difference, like somebody said, like beer (good comparison by the way). There isn't ONE hands down favorite or best for all people It's good to try them all out and see for yourself what you like. You also might want to consider figuring out who's glitters, colors, etc. you want as it will save you on shipping to order everything together. Also, when you factor in shipping, you might notice that the prices are very different from one to the next and this should also be taken into consideration.

One of the Dateline or 48 Hours shows just did a show on this very thing. I don't remember the exact figures, but manufacturers pay something like $15.00 per hour on average when you factor in benefits and salary to get things made. In China, that figure was like $1.20 per hour! Whatever the exact figures were, it was a 12 to 1 ratio. Not only do US manufacturers have to pay higher wages, but also pay way more for tougher regulations, insurance and taxes than Chinese manufacturers. The saddest part of it all, though, is that all this business we send to China and India could be going to Mexico, but their system is so broken it has to go oversees. If all this business was headed to Mexico, we probably wouldn't have the immigration problem we do today! Did you know that the average wage difference between the US and Mexico is the biggest difference between two neighboring countries anywhere in the world? Other than furniture, I don't really see anything "Made in Mexico" and that is a shame.

That is AWESOME SenkoSam. Best stick color I have seen!

I've had fading problems when I have thrown my baits in water to cool. I think they get bleached out. I don't do this any more. i've had fading problems from reheats, too, but usually that is noticable right away. i've had fading problems from bubbles, too, but that also is noticed right away.

You can get a presto pot from target, Wal-mart, eBay, etc. Also, if you don't want to pour such a high quantity check out the fry daddy.

Gunnie, So long as a bait is not patented (and VERY few are) and you are not calling it a name that could be confused with the original nor are you claiming it is the original, you are perfectly fine. It happens in the fishing industry ALL THE TIME. You see this typically with the Senko knockoffs. You are fine to copy it (no patent) and to name it "Fred's stick bait". You are probably going to get in trouble calling it a Senko or even a Senco. When you copy a bait and call it the same thing as the original, or something so close that it could be mistaken for the original, that is illegal because of trademark protection. You can't sell your stick bait as a Senko, Senco, Zero, Zeero, Stick-O, Stick-Oh, Tiki Stick, Teeky Stick etc. because other companies have already trademarked those names or they are so close to the original they could be mistake for the original. If you see a "TM" or the "C" with a circle around it by a product name, it is trademarked and off limits.

Hopefully the owner of that site just doesn't know and sees this post and asks. He is asking for trouble, that is for sure.
