  1. I'm not positive, but i think that is similar to what lurecraft uses. I think they put a wrap around heating element around it. Not sure, though. I, too, have thought about making one with this, but they are not made to be heated and I didn't think it would be safe. On eBay do a search for "presto pot" and you can get what Craw has there already made for $49.99.
  2. senkosam, I'm not sure how this is speeding things up? Aren't you still doing 2 pours then having to dip? If this is the case, wouldn't it just be easier to pour it in chartreuse instead of pouring it in clear and dipping?
  3. I thought about doing one of these a long time ago but was sceptical that the heating element would be inconsistant. Any info on how well it handles heat? Did you tap the spigot yourself?

    Bags

It's been a while since I needed to purchase bags. I just went there and looked. Did their price on the 6x6 4 mil go up?? Used to be the best deal on the 'net. http://www.veripack.com/Product/dept.asp?dept%5Fid=80006&DeptPath%5Fid=110%2C+1110%2C+11102&DeptPath%5Fid=80006&ClickedSku=no&RequestImageFile=no&HeaderName=4+Mil+Reclosable+Bags+%2D+MiniGrip%26reg%3B
  6. So what..all these sticks I have been selling are going to fade?!?! I don't think my customers will be too happy about that.
  7. I've seen some Lexan molds on eBay and wondered how well the finished product is vs. aluminum. Lexan is some tough stuff so I am willing to bet the durability is just as good. I wonder how well it disapates the heat. Anybody have any insight?
  8. Ledhed, Thanks for the link. Have you purchased anything from them yet?
  9. I'm not quite sure I know how that works or what it means. Can you explain more?
  10. CrawChuck, Sure would be neat to see some pics with your tutorial. ;-) Nice how-to you posted!
  11. Hey CrawChunk, How do you make a mold from the actual crawdad? Do you freeze it or anything first?
  12. I've done real well with them on a C-rig.
  13. Not sure really, but that is the impression I am getting.
  14. Yes, please post a pic. Been hearing good things about it.
  15. Hi Poor Boy's Woman, Would you mind posting the 3 sizes available with pricing? Is the heating element a jacket heater on the outsided of the unit or is it built into the side walls? Any estimate on how many 5 1/4" "sticks per hour" these can pour? Thanks
  16. From my experience, all 3 suppliers (Del, LC, MF) all have a different "version" of each color. They are different potentcy levels, too.
  17. I just open the mold, pour half of it like I am pouring a one peice mold. Keep it about 1/16th of an inch from overflowing. Also, keep it about 1/4 of an inch from the pour hole. Let it "set up", not dry completely so that it bonds well. Put it back together and pour straight down the hole with your other color. The hole should be completely open since you kept your first pour about 1/4" from the pour hole. Get the plastic just a little bit hotter for the second color so that you can pour a finer stream down the hole and it will help it all bond better. WARNING: these are sloooow pouring.
  18. He does have a great selection and excellent service! I just wish he offered a discount on larger orders
  19. Do you have link that shows this info? I don't understand why salt and scent would be illegal.
  20. Maybe one is selling by 4 oz. weight and the other by 4 oz. volume?
  21. I've searched the web for plastisol dyes and noticed there was a lot of results for these screen printing dyes that you discuss. I'm not sure if it will work, but I have a feeling it will. Try a little bit and see what happens and let us know.
  22. All plastic is gunna smoke a little, although not as bad as the stuff you are remelting.
  23. From time to time I will lay some sticks on cardboard to suck the oil out of the plastic. This might help...
  24. If you're buying a mold from Del, I'd just order your colors from him to save on shipping. These colors should have you covered with a lot of the basics: Green Pumpkin Pumpkin Light Watermelon Amber Black Motor Oil Chartreuse Black Grape Bubble Gum White Pearl Powder
  25. I can't wait to see people post new pics. I love flipping through them. Most of them are a work of art. It would be cool to have some sort of monthly photo contest. It's probably already been done, though.
