  3. Hi Travis. What do you use to hold your hot plastic and dip from? I'm giving some thought to trying to make some tubes and getting ideas of what I need to get. I think I have a grip on the dipping rod part now just need ideas for the 'dipping tank'. Thanks! Rick SE CT
  4. I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering fishing.

  11. Baitjunky and DaveMc1 - thank you for sharing that info. As a hobbyist only making baits for myself, I am not nearly as knowledgeable of product availability as you guys who make a business of this stuff. Rick
  12. Worm oil is DINP (diisononyl phthalate) or DOP (dioctyl pthalate), both of which are a pthalate used as a plasticizr. I think this is a point of confusion what with all the talk of "pthalate-free platisol", etc. It has been mentioned in the past that "pthalate free plastisol" is kind of a gimmick. People want/like to hear that those bad carcinogenic pthalates are absent from the plastics used to make lures, but fail to realize that the other products that are added to the pthalate-free plastisol actually DO contain pthalates (colorant, softener, hardener, worm oil) and those products are therefore putting the pthalates back in.
  13. I've never tried it myself, but several people over the years have mentioned on this forum a Stampendous brand glitter as a usable craft glitter widely available from Walmart, Michael's, JoAnn Fabrics, etc.

  21. Highlander. You are correct. I haven't the foggiest what I was thinking when I wrote that... Thanks for catching that. Rick
  22. Hi Mark. Interesting idea. I had only thought about glow pigment before not glitter. Did some (not a lot) of searching for it. I'm not suggesting you buy it here - just letting you know that, yeah, it' s out there. http://lure-solutions.co.uk/products/heat-resistant-glitter-0-4mm Rick BTW 5gram is about 2 ounces, and £5 is about $7...
  23. I'd like to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy New Year. It's been a pleasure to read all the ideas, information, and opinions posted on TU this past year and I hope that 2016 will be a good year for everyone. As I sit here reflecting on the past year(s), I feel compelled to say, "thank you" to: - Everyone who has contributed and shared their thoughts, experience, and knowledge. - Jerry (the founder of this site). - LPO for keeping it going. - All the businesses and sponsors (both large and small) for hearing us, paying attention to us, and providing us with the materials and products vital to our needs. I firmly believe that without the talent, artistry, experimentation, and reporting of the collective members of TU, this hobby/industry would be severely lacking and miles behind the point to where we have evolved today. Again - thank you and Happy New Year. Rick H. SE CT
  24. I don't know the intensity of the flavor but maybe this would work? At least its an oil and not water based... http://oliveoillovers.com/amoris-bacon/?gclid=CIjX6vuWgMoCFZEXHwodDk4Kiw#.VoIFxq1OloM
