The #3434 (Model FBB-4H-AFM) does accept 1/8 " base hole pins. I don't know where you see that note. In the DO-It catalog, it says that the #3318 (Model FBW-4-AF) is not designed for pins. That mold is made for a finer weedguard,.

Nathan, Are you in Phelps County or Henry County? I did a mapquest, and it gave me two locations for Clinton, MO. Also I assume this will take place at your house? If so please PM me your address. My reservations are in, and I am ready to go...........Thanks........Ted

You might wantto bake them right after dipping in Spike-It. Then I use Devcon 2 Ton 30 minute epoxy(D2T). BTW what is Dexron?

Wow you are new here, welcome to TU. What is your specialty?

Nathan, when you said a senior moment you made me laugh. When I called one of the hotels, the guy asked me if I was a senior citizen or had ad AARP card. It freaked me out. Last year I turned 50, and I was getting forms to fill out for AARP. I may look 50, feel 50, but act like a kid. I don't know if that's good or not. BTW thanks for the phone number.

I among others welcome you to the site. Based on what you said, you are limited to what you can do, but don't let that stop you from learning, enjoying the knowledge and the fun here. The guys here are great and willing to share their knowledge with you. If you are interested in painting jigs or spinnerbaits, you are more than welcome to PM me. I can show you some of my work via e-mail, and can get you started painting jigs. Don't be afraid to ask questions. That's how we all learn. I hang around the wirebait section. BTW welcome aboard.

Nathan, The phone number you have listed is the same for the Hampton Inn as for the U.S.A Inn. The number you have listed for both is really for U.S.A. Inn. What is the phone number for Hampton Inn? BTW I will be there Friday and Saturday, the 24th and the 25th of April..........Thanks for the help.................Ted

Brad, there are several medias you can try. Remember all powders don't always work with all medias. If you read some threads and posts here, you will see guys have problems with certain colors, in a fluid bed. That's just the nature of the beast. If you need more help, you can PM me. As far as filter medias these are some of the items that have worked. Coffee filters, brown paper bags, vacuum cleaner bags, allergy pillow cases and pourous filter media. These are not all my ideas, so I can't take credit for any of them. But this is a compilation of things guy have told me that they have tried. I hope this helps.

Thanks JSC, I just sent a copy to delw a couple of days ago. I don't always check all the threads. However if you PM me, then I know I will get it out to you, in a couple of days, if not the same day. I am more than willing to e-mail anyone here info. Just remember on the PM to put your e-mail address down. I get a lot of PM's without e-mail addresses, and then I have to PM back, and guys don't PM me back right away, so PM tag occurs...........Take Care.......Cadman

Terry that is a tough question to answer. I’m going to start this out by saying if that’s what you want, then try it. The rest of the info I’m about to tell you is my personal opinion, so do with it what you will, I don’t want to sway you with my decision, because I could be all wrong. If this were a ball collar jig, like the bullet bass jig, and if it were a big jig like the bullet bass jig, then I would have no qualms about saying go for it. I did do this to a bullet bass jig, and it does work well. I think a better choice for me would have been to go with a custom mold. But here again, that is costly and I didn’t want to pay a couple hundred bucks, however everything would be in line, and the lead would flow around the hook and the wire. Going back to your brush jig, my concern would be that since it’s a tapered collar, you will have a lot of wire keeper showing, which will not fill because there is no void there for the lead to fill it. You can hog out more material, but I don’t know what that will do to the look and function of the jig. If you go with a thin wire keeper, that might be your best choice. Like .015 - .020. However that thin of a wire may be too wimpy and bend a lot. These are a lot of variables to consider. If you are set on trying this then by all means go for it. Try the biggest size, and just do one cavity, see how it goes, and take your time, and learn from your experience. When you get done, post the info here, so others can learn from your experience. As far as is if it’s worth it to do! If that’s what you want, then you will have to do it, because you have no other choice, unless you go custom. It’s only a $40 mold, if everything works out the way you want it and you are happy then yes it was worth it. If it doesn’t come out like you planned, there is always JB Weld, where you can try to restore it to its original state. Let us know how you do. I hope this doesn’t stop you from experimenting. That’s how we all learn.

Thanks for the compliment. Terry, I’m not here to pass judgement on anyone. I just like to see what others do. You can e-mail me some pics if you like. I was in the process of starting making crankbaits. Well I got so busy that it is on the back burner. I’m sure when I make one it will look horrible, let alone if it swims at all. So like I always say practice make perfect(most of the time).

I was going to recommend the silica packs. You can even put the silica packs in the powder, to keep it drier. Make sure the silica packs are clean if you intend on putting them in the powder. One last thing do not put your powder in the oven or anything really warm. This will active the bonding process of the powder. 100 degrees may not be much, but it could affect adhisiveness down the road.

When you get to that point, definitely post some pics.

The best way I found out how to do this is this. Take a thick black marker, and mark the area you want to start cutting. Now take a straight edge, and a sharp pointy nail or a scriber, and etch out on the mold over the black marker, outline the lines and the location of the wire. The reason for the black marker, is so you can see you layout lines better. Do this to all of the cavities if that's what you want. Then with a Dremel, sharp utlity knife and or a small diamond file, start slowly cutting away material. I prefer not to use dremel, because it has a tendency to wander. This is going to be a slow process, so don't hurry, or you'll screw it up. Remembr if you cut too much, you are going to get flash. So cut....fit..... cut some more.....fit...etc...etc... until you get a nice close fit....Good luck...

Yes you have to modify the mold. Just go slow and measure twice cut once.

It comes with (3) pins. I believe. You should get some extras. I know they sell them (50) in a package by them selves.
-
I'll look into it to see if I can locate more. Right now I don't want to give up all my green, but I will try to get you some. We will talk. I assume you want more gray. That's no problem George, I have about 300 lbs of each of the textured colors. I can cover you in gray if you like. You are more than welcome to take as much as you want. I just want to make sure I have bring enough for everyone. So no-one gets short changed.
-
George, I know I have white I just have to find it and see how much I have. How much are you looking for. Also one of the textured powders is close to white. I'll bring several boxes of each color. This way we can paint some of the textured whites. If you like it you are more than welcome to it. BTW, yes bring some containers, as that would be a better form of transport. I will also bring some labels, this way you can tell what is what, and in case you get stopped, the cops won't think it's drugs.
-
Which football mold do you have? There are football molds that have holes but do not use a base hole pin. I just don't want to lead you astray.
-
Sorry, I only have 1-1/2 lbs left, which was a custom blend.
-
I've seen thew kevlar, where do you get the GSP?
-
Coley, no problem. Approx. how much do you want. I can bring you 40 lbs..:lolhuh:if you want, trust me that is no problem. That would be a whole box. This way you would have enogh for a lifetime. Guys don't be shy if you intend on attending the TU meet, even if I don't know you, you are more than welcome to the powder paint. Just let me know how much you want, bring a bag, container, plastic bucket or truck, and I'll have it for all of you........Take Care............Ted

I'm sure free shipping doesn't apply to phone orders, however that would be nice, and that would shift my purchases towards them. My orders are always $300.00 plus, since I always stock up on items to make sure I don't run out. I guess my feeling is this. In these times, I would think that companies would go a little out of there way to help keep their customers and to make them happy. I've always gone above and beyond with my customer service to help current and prospective customers. I have had some prospective customers, that have literally "wasted my time", and then they did not place orders. You know that is the way it is. I don't pour, paint and sell jigs to support my family it's extra gas money, and a great hobby to show off my stuff.

I spoke to a different guy today about a mold, and he was very courteous and helpful. However the person he reports to is the guy I had problems with. I was thinking about sending the owner a letter. I really liked working with the guys at Stamina, because they always helped me out, and it was a one on one type of arrangement. I don't know what happened. I will give you my feed back also. Captain Rusty, who did you send the e-mail to? I don't know who the owner is.

Yes it does work. As far as screwlocks go Hagen's for copper ones and Barlow's for stainless steel ones.
