  1. Welcome, I'm from northern IL.
  2. Weedless Casting Jig works really well, also similar to the Bullet head mentioned above only Casting jig has eye sockets and a variety of sizes. #3465 and #3466 Do-It Molds
  3. 60° will not work. The eye to the hook shank is too deep.
  4. In the 32886 round bend, the biggest I've seen is 5/0. If you want to use the EWG 91768 Mustad hook, that the mold was originally designed for, that hook goes up to 8/0. depending on what cavity you want that hook to fit, you may have to modify the mold.
  5. Like mentioned above, draw it up in cad or pay someone to draw it up and fully dimension it. Make a prototype of it if you can to see if it does what you want. If you cannot make one and are looking to sell your idea, you can try calling some hook manufacturers . If they think it's worthwhile they will let you know. However be cautious on giving them info. They could possibly steal your idea and market it before you even get going. There are ways to protect yourself from that. Good luck.
  6. I use mine as is as well. I use the EWG hook.

    wiggle jigs

Do you have a pic of the Wiggle jigs that you can post? As far as Tinsel, rubber legs and bucktails, you can find all of that on LPO. (Lure Parts on line.) For rubber legs, you can use round skirt material.
  8. Contact David Aery at Hook Solutions (Warsaw, MO), he might be able to help you out. (660-547-2874)
  9. FrogAddict, it is nice to see that some members search info and find it on there own , and take the bull by the horns and run with it. It is even nicer to see some guys come back and post their successes along with some appreciation to all the guys who contribute on here daily. No-one on TU expects any gratitude for sharing their knowledge, but it sure is nice to read about it once in awhile. Many guys on here answer any and all questions regularly no matter how trivial day in and day out. Thanks for posting, good luck on your future endeavors.
  10. Nice looking jig. Job well done.
  11. Yep, I got the suggestion when I was looking for mine from Smalljaw as well. Yes the vice for the price point works really well.
  12. I cure the paint by baking the heads in a toaster oven first. Once it's cool, I apply the electrical tape dots on the head, and then I clearcoat the head to keep the tape from wearing off. It looks really good. I've used them for kill spots and solid color 2d eyes. The vinyl tape comes in many colors, and it is cheaper than buying dots from WTP, and with the punch you can make any size you want.
  13. I use a Griffin Odyssey Spider vice as well. A really good vice for around the $100 price point.
  14. Nice looking jigs, they should catch some fish. Good Luck
  15. I've spoken to Pamela and yes she is very helpful. Problem is if you are going to sell items on a website you should have it in stock. I waited for 6 -9 months for them to run production on a concave worm weight. After this time I gave up because it still was not in production. My thought on this is if you can't keep your inventory up, then take it off your website. There were many people at one time looking for this mold. So what happened, anyone that had this mold and was selling it, price went thru the roof. All in all I got the mold on e-bay. They are hard to find and if you want one in good condition, you will pay for it dearly.
  16. Yep, that is the dilemma. That is why almost everybody that buys molds gets them from Do-It. In the past, I've had very bad luck with Hilts getting any of t heir molds. Seems like they never have any in stock. Good Luck
  17. So how much lead (weight) can you get in a medium flat rate box? How big are the bars? Reason I'm asking is I don't want to be cutting bars to size to fit in my pot. So a 1" thick x 2" x 7-12" long would be ideal for me. Just FYI, the biggest problem I see with guys shipping lead flat rate, is packaging. They never wrap or band it strong enough and the boxes fall apart, losing some contents. I'm not saying this is the way you ship, I'm just stating this is what I have received from other sellers on line.
  18. How much per pound, plus how much for shipping?
  19. Hilts Molds http://www.hiltsmolds.com/HiltsMoldsOnlineStore.htm
  20. That's kind of cool. Nice craftsmanship. Hope you get some fish with it.
  21. I use black vinyl electric tape and then a circle punch used for leather. Tool with 5 or 6 punches is about $9 at Hobby Lobby.
  22. I got several off of a guy on another forum. They are pretty hard to find, and they command a hefty price. Mine is Hilts as well. At one time I called Hilts to buy some, and they only run lots, when there is a big demand. I gave up on buying from Hilts, they never had any in stock. e-bay has some now and again.
  23. I figured you were going to have the most problems with the smallest head. Also yes the smallest head has the least lead to hold the hooks in place. Like you mentioned if you want the lead to hold it better, you will have to carve out the mold to get more lead to hold the head, however this will increase the weight of your head. Powder paint will tighten up the heads when the jig is painted and baked. Other than that not many options.
  24. Send the sample over to fishingskirts.com. Erin will match it for you if they have it. Almost impossible to do this via computer pictures as every monitor has slight color variation.
  25. One other thing and that is if you don't want to use Trokar hooks in the Trokar mold you can use other heavier hooks. Lot of options for you.
