  1. I think these are it, at least I hope so, as they are what I ordered. PRICEY, but yes I like them too. http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=1075&CATID=65 Holders w/ collar http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=1073&CATID=65 Did you make your own mold? Think I'm gonna try that. Did order the Poison Tail in both sizes though too.
  2. Been pouring soft plastics, but now want to add jig making to my mix. Really like the Booyah Swim'n Jig. What would be the best mold to emulate this? http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.TextId?hvarTextId=61302&hvarDept=100&hvarEvent=&hvarClassCode=8&hvarSubCode=1&hvarTarget=browse#reviews Looking at the Poison tail, but not sure if it would glide as well, it does have a cool eye socket though. Thanks much.
  3. It depends on how much reheating you do. But if I was to give you a number I would say between 15 and 25
  4. Thanks for all the replies. Although I think I have tried most of these, and just not seeing the results like I do with the blue and green hi-lite powder. Maybe I do need to take them outside more and look them over. Gonna print this all out though and make samples one more time. Maybe I'm missing something.
  5. Senko Sam: I am getting low on my "sugar" flakes (sounds like breakfast) so need to get another order in to you, but my question is this. Is there any difference between your sugar flakes and say your black glitter? I otherwords can I use just the same quantity of another color and get the same weight result? (I do understand they will be darker) Thanks - Oh yeah do you have 1# pricing on these "sugar" flakes?
  6. I purchased a couple hi-lite colors, that I'm have big fun with. But can not seem to figure out what to do with the pearl powder I bought. (White I believe) Only thing it seems to do is make a bait cloudy. Am I to not add it until after heating? Or what am I missing? I thought I would be able to get some neat looking swirled worms and such out of it, but have not figured it out yet. Any advice??? Thanks.
  7. OK you won me over, just sent in my first order for the stuff. Now the wait.
  8. OK that all sounds good. It is close to as detailed?
  9. Everyone now appears to be using RTV. What am I missing as to why it is preferred to resin. Is it because the RTV is easier to clean the mold afterwords? Thanks
  10. Most of my experiments have been varying amounts of lt. watermelon color and various amounts/colors of glitter and hi-lites. Gonna try the oxblood suggestion, a color I've never thrown before. Does anyone have a suggestion for trying to get something that is perch like in color? (less the vertical stripes) Also, does anyone know why the big boy bait producers are not using hi-lite powders? Is it because each bait is unique?
  11. OK, last year I bought the basic colors and some alum molds. This year when I ordered more plastic I also go blue hi-lite and lt. green hi-lite powder as well as some pearl white powder. I am making some amazing baits, experimenting with these new powders. I am experimenting with 2 oz of plastic at a time, pouring a couple of beavers and tiki sticks without salt. I lay them side by side and experiment again. Again, I am not even sure what I am asking, but can someone give me a "normal" color to make that will catch bass in clear water. The lakes are frozen over up here so I can not test any of these colors, but to the "fisherman" they look real cool, just don't know if the fish will think they look good to eat. I mean, I do not see these types of baits being made by the commerical bait makers. WHY? Thanks for your replies.
  12. Thinking of trying MF. Here is what I pour for myself only. Beavers Creatures Tiki Sticks (salted) Given I add softner to the Cal product would it not be best for me to get the supersoft for all of the above?
  13. Does anyone have a good AL mold for the new hot frogs or toads that are out. Has anyone made their own mold and if so, which commercial one did you use. I have only recently tried fishing with them, and they worked pretty well. Also a style I like to fish. The ones I purchased (only ones I could find) where the Sizmic brand, and not sure they would work the best to make a mold. Thanks in advance.
  14. Finally got back here. Thanks so much for the ideas. Gonna try them all and see what works best for me. At least I know it is not another product I need to buy.
  15. I know this topic is a little old, but want to encourage folks to try this. I'm new but am currently pouring a good percentage of my baits without any dye and using just flakes. If I am using dye just a drop of two to 4 oz. Greens (mostly) Black Char Holo Gold Red They all look great. I am pouring these to fish not sell. In clear water they DO catch fish.
