  1. These are my first pours made on Friday. I am just now learning the color amounts. Thanks. Saint.
  2. I appreciate your help. I feel bad posting all these questions, but I need help from people who know. One day I too will be able to answer questions (hopefully). Thanks. Saint.
  3. I have got the air bubble problem solved, now I need to tackle the color problems. I am trying to pour June bug. The recipe I am using is as follows: 2 oz. Plastic 6 drops black grape (also tried 7 and 8 drops) Green glitter Tried with and without salt I have yet to get the plastic to be dark purple. It has been anywhere from light purple to a bluish tent. I have created some cool colors, but when I try to replicate it doesn't come out the same. Does the cooking affect the color? I generally cook 2 oz. for 2:00, stir, 1:00, stir and add dye, salt and glitter, 30 secs., stir, 30 secs, stir. The temp is around 350. Sorry so long, just wanted to give all details. Thanks. saint.
  4. Thanks I will try some more tomorrow. You mentioned pouring down the hole and not to touch the sides. I try to do that, but it seems like have to pour so slow and get a very small stream. I am afraid my plactic will get to cool. I guess I am just paranoid because it seems to stay hot longer than I think. One more quick question. You mention pouring half of the worm and letting it sit. This would require that I have the mold put together. Is this the best way to pour if I am not doing a laminate? Thanks again. Saint.
  5. I just got my 5 inch senko kit in today (thanks Del). I have poured some baits and came out with some wicked colors. I was trying to use basic recipes, but they look different ( I will post pics). That is not my question however. I have an air pocket that forms in the top one third of the bait (about .5 to 1 inch long). I have read some of the suggestions on this site and tried them. I have tried hotter around 350, and I have tried cooler around 300. I pour until the top is filled. I wait for it to go down, but by that time it seems my plastic is cooler and does not go back down when I top off. I tried using my two piece by pouring half then putting it together and pouring the rest. I have also tried pouring put together from the start. Any suggestions on this would be sincererly appreciated. Oh by the way, you guys are right, I am already hooked. Thanks. Saint.
  6. Thank you. You bring up an interesting point with putting the scent in the plastic container. Is this so the baits do not soak up the plastic smell, or is to add a scent as an attractant? Do you think it would work to put some garlic salt into the container but not actually touch the baits so they can soak that smell?
  7. I have yet to begin pouring, as I am waiting for my kit. However, I am trying to buy everything I will need so I can start ASAP. I have seen many different posts regarding bags. I will not produce enough product to warrant buying 1000 bags. Also, all product will be for personal use. I may consider putting salt on the outside of the worms at some point. Can I use tupperware with a lid like I see in some bait shops, if not any suggestions would be appreciated? I guess eventually I may start adding scents. At that point in time, can you recommend a storage technique? Thanks again. Saint.
  8. What is the difference between the t-stick mold and the ribbed mold? I would guess the t-stick is a tiki stick copy and the ribbed is a senko copy. Is this correct?
  9. One quick question. Can you buy glitter from a retail outlet (Wal-Mart)? Is this the same type of glitter? If so, is it really any cheaper? Thanks. Saint.
  10. I appreciate your help once more.
  11. Thanks for your reply. I was reading up on this stuff and noticed there are two piece molds and one piece molds. Am I correct in assuming the difference is one gives a one piece lure and the other gives you two halves stuck together? If so, which would you recommend for a beginner and why? I would prefer to use a one piece, but if it's much more difficult I will cut my teeth on two piece. Thanks. Saint.
  12. Hey guys, this is my first time here. I just fished Toledo Bend this weekend and decided to pour my own baits. I have no idea how to get started. I read the plastics 101 article on this sight, and have become intrigued. Can you guys please give me some suggestions on a good reasonably price starter kit, and any helpful advice. I am most interested in pouring trick worms, lizards, senkos and creature baits. Thanks. Saint.
