  1. The wire I use came from BPS near Baltimore. It was in the saltwater fishing area and I think it is used for leaders? Depending on how stiff you want the weedguard I use like 30-90lb. Found it on BPS website. http://www.basspro.com/Malin-HardWire-Stainless-Steel-Leader/product/8581/-234736 Allen
  2. I bought some inexpensive silicone for mold making from a site recommended on here but lost the link. Alumilite I know sells it but this other site was about half the cost of Alumilite. The old bottles have no company markings but the molds themselves are a pink/purple color if that helps? Allen

    Lead Leaching?

I picked up a toaster oven at Ollie's for like $15 and it works great. Allen
  4. Does Sohumi still sell there 60 degree hooks? They have a very long shank and are somewhat of a EWG hook. Allen
  5. http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z382/Munkin275/IMG00119-20110610-1903.jpg Just a reminder to be careful! This is what my right hand looks like a week after spilling 1/2 a pyrex cup of hot plastic on it. Allen
  6. If that color is so popular send on to Charles at fishingskirts.com and ask if he can have some made. He is a great guy and a good business man so if there is a demand he can create the supply. He has made custom colors in the past for me after a talk or two. From his perspective he has to have enough demand to have it made. I would be willing to buy 500 tabs and like I said I am sure enough people would be interested that he would make it. Allen

    Chunk Molds

interested? what would it cost with shipping to 21742? Allen
  8. Natural shad is easy, smoke with .035 black and gold flake added sparsly and this thread is old BTW. Allen
  9. There us a company out there that makes a tungsten kit but I lost the link when my computer crashed. Basically it was tungsten powder that you mixed with epoxy. I was going to try some of it in a Do-It mold but never got around to it. Allen
  10. Try laying a tab or two on the dash of your truck in direct sunlight. While I have never tried a skirt tab it does work on crankbaits and soft plastics to change the color. Allen
  11. Are you putting down a primer coat first? The two best ways I have found are to scuff up the blade and paint a primer base coat with some rattle can automobile primer, paint then clear. Option two is to powdercoat the blade but this isn't easy and takes some practice. In the end no paint will hold up to everything just like the spinnerbait head itself. Allen
  12. If you have an old skirt send it to Charles at Fishingskirts.com and see if he can match it for you? I have tried to look at pics of the bait online but it is too hard to see what the color looks like. Allen
  13. I have done this to make hair jigs using the 1/8oz football jig cavity. Lay the base pin in the mold and using a sharpie mark where the head and base pin meet. Now I just used a small file and slowly filed it down until it was a little bigger than 1/16". This is a slow process and definately not high volume but for the 20 hare jigs I use a year it works fine. Allen

    Powder Paint

This is what I use and have no problems with it. For my 1oz football jigs I use a crack torch but smaller jigs the BBQ lighter works. Allen
