  1. These are what I will most likely use? I have some I bought from Barlows that say 4/0 but they are more like 2/0? Now the 4/0 32886 hooks are like 5/0 or 6/0 and will not fit in the mold. I really need to take some pics of that hook and see if I can research my ebay history? Allen Thanks for the help guys!
  2. I am looking for a 28 or 30 degree O'Shaughnessy jig hook that has a diameter of about .050? The ones I have now are poured into a do-it poison tail jighead. I bought these off ebay to make some swimming jigs and they work great. They are not the Mustad 32886 or the thinner 327**? hooks as they are round bend. Not sure who makes them but they are black nickel. Does anyone know where to get these or the 28degree Gamakatsu swim jig hooks? Allen
  3. I like to powder pint them then use nail polish over the 3d eyes to keep them from coming off. Allen
  4. I tried some round brown rubber I found on ebay. The stuff really flares out but I do not care for it at all! Too much memory. Allen
  5. Let me look up the numbers and I will take a few. Allen
  6. After reading all the posts I could find on "foam" "foamies" etc. I ended up using the Alumilite that was recommended. What I found is that stuff is tuff! I ran over a blank with my Yukon and it did not break. It is not as bouyant as balsa and the finished RC 1.5 I made is a slow floater. Just watch breathing in the micro balloons when mixing. The entire process including mold making I learned by reading posts her on TU with the help of a couple of PM's. Allen
  7. I started making my tackle for the same reason, cost and availability of Eakins jigs! Powder paint when cured is as tough as you can get so there is no need to clear coat. Just go to Big Lots or Ollies and get a small cheap toaster oven to cure the heads after powderpainting them. Here are a couple more tips for making those Eakins jigs. Pour with the base hole pins in not the weedguards. After curing the heads then glue in the weedguards afterwards with super glue GEL (very important to use GEL!). Eakins uses (or use to its been awhile since I bought any?) 3/0 hooks, I found these do not work as well as the 4/0 which seem stronger and lose less fish. Allen
  8. Whatever the normal lenght is for bass lures like 5"? Allen
  9. It would be best if you could post a picture? Allen
  10. What Alumilite product is everyone using? I called smooth on and they said none of their products could withstand the heat of lead? The place George told me to call put me on hold until forever so I just hung up. Allen
  11. Contact Cast Industries as he is the only person I know that has that hook? I could not post this info in the open forum because he competes with sponsors. It is the same one that Booyah uses in their football jigs.

  12. Their premium blades are top notch quality! Call them and ask for a sample blade in gold they should send you one. Allen
  13. I have never seen them for sale just hooks? Maybe some of the others on here may have a source? I do know they will not fit in any Do-It molds. Allen
  14. Since no-one from Sampo will return my calls can someone tell me how much 1000 spinnerbait swivels run? Worth are like $250 per thousand just seeing what the price difference is with Sampo? Allen
  15. Does anyone use these or have any experience using them? Flat eye hooks just work better for me fro all other jigs so I was planning on using them. Allen
  16. I have one but it isn't very accurate? It is used for calculating shipping weight. Allen

His molds will pour with the Hotpot but they work much better with the bottom pour. Allen
  18. I have never tried the foam because it was to cold when I was learning foam. What I use and was highly recommended is Alumilite Resin with Micro balloons added for bouyancy. A solid Alumilite resin body can withstand being run over in a parking lot by a 1999 GMC Yukon (scientific durability test). The micro ballons will make the bait softer inside but with 1" twisted wire loops epoxied in I was not able to pull them out with channel lock pliers. Thru wire would be stronger but every time I try it the wire sets crocked in the mold? Allen
  19. Lakeland Spoons Try here for spoons in bulk.

  20. I will be close to Clinton for work most of next month, maybe I can visit a few members while I am there? Allen
  21. What are you painting them with? Every time I have tried this the airbrush paint just runs off the bait? Rattle cans are the only thing that works and then the paint is so thick it fills the details of the bait. Allen Allen
  22. Ok I am a official TU Club Member so who is going to show me the secret handshake? Allen
  23. I have some unpainted 1/4oz ones if you are interested? Allen
