  1. I plan on borrowing a friends camera to make some videos on how to use different fishing lures. I will video me bending one and see if I can post it here? It took me longer to type this than to bend a round loop in a spinnerbait. Allen
  2. I ordered the black ones, they sent me the regular ones? I called and said I would keep the regular ones please send me the black ones I ordered. Hopefully they are on the way just sometimes things get held up in US Customs. Allen
  3. I am wondering which football jigs do not stand up? I have some unpainted ones in 1/2, 3/4 and 1oz with basehole pins that I may get rid of some? Allen
  4. I buy things from luremaking.com that I cannot find anywhere else ie black spinnerbait and buzzbait frames. If only they would send the buzzbait frame to me that I ordered? Allen
  5. Does Chuck do soft plastics too? Allen

    Hookeyes

60 degree flateye for finesse and flippin jigs, 28 degree for swimming jigs. After trial and error these are what work best for me? Allen
  7. Very interested can you keep us posted on what you find? Thanks. Allen
  8. You just need to bend the loop as round as you can. When bending the loop bend until the tip is about 1mm past the blade wire. After you remove the pliers the wire will flex back enough it should now be touching or close enough that the split ring will not pass. All that it takes is some practice to get it right. Now I do use .032 or .035 light wire so that maybe helping me? Allen
  9. I use the black round nose nesting pliers that are in the link turkeylegs posted. Allen
  10. I think I use to buy these from Captain Hooks but they are not listed now? Where can I buy like 500-1000 of them? I have my IRS EIN form but am still waiting on the Excise one. Allen
  11. Barlows Tackle Shop: Browsing Round Nose Pliers - 5 Styles I use the black pliers. Allen
  12. You are not closing the loop enough, what are you using to make the bend? I use a set of round bend pliers which work a lot better than needle nose. Like others have posted you can wrap the wire so it is a closed loop (I have never done this) or I have seen pics of baits that the wire gap has been soldered shut. I plan on trying the solder thing but for me it is not necessary as I haven't lost a blade in 3 years. Allen
  13. Put a drop of clear nail polish over the eye to where you see it cover the eye and eyesocket. Devcon works but it is a lot quicker and easier to use the nail polish. Allen
  14. I have 3 or 4 molds from Shawn Collins that I bought before he became so popular. While these are very nice molds the best spinnerbait I can hand pour does not come close to the detail of the ones Chuck spincast for me. If you want to do any kind of volume I would go the spincast route. Allen
  15. 2-3 depending on the desired thickness? For clearwater/translucent I use 2 tabs, stained water ie chart white I use 1 chart and 1.5 white, muddy water 3 black. Allen
  16. That stuff sells for crazy prices on ebay! I have some that I bought years ago that I am now going to try on some football jigs. Allen
  17. I remember someone posting a link to the manufacturer of the spinnerbaits that Jann's, etc. sells but I cannot find anything in the 10 pages of seach results? Allen
  18. Fishingskirts.com sells what they call frogs hair which is as fine as silicone skirts can be made. There is no other source I could recommend more for silicone but if you are looking for round rubber livingrubber.com is the place to go. Allen
  19. I picked up one from Big Lots for like $12 but the temp guage is nowhere near accurate. Allen

    weed guard

They make the 1/8 weedguards in different stiffnesses? Most of the ones you buy are medium but one of the major resellers has 1/8 weedguards that are very stiff that I use for flippin jigs. Allen
  21. Doesn't the heat ruin the paint? I am trying to figure out a better way to paint spinnerbaits. Allen
  22. I fish for SM in rivers most of the time and a heavier bait with smaller blades works better in current. Most of the baits I fish are 3/8 or 1/2oz hidden weight heads on a 1/4oz frame with size 3 and 4 willows. Allen
  23. I have a standard blade size chart somewhere I will try to find it for you but using smaller than normal blades is what started me into tacklemaking. Allen
  24. I ask Charles at fishingskirts.com to try and make some so it maybe available in the near future? Allen
