Depending on the knot you want to use to finish the fly their are a couple of sites that have video clips. These go under a lot of names flying condom, flying C, rubber tails and they can also be dressed using bucktail instead of the rubber but i have had little success with the bucktail version. Best colours for me are red, purple and orange.

Just thought i would say hello from Wales in the UK. Think i have only made one type of lure they go by the name of rubber tails or flying condoms a type of spinner i use for Salmon and Sea Trout very deadly. But looking at the lures some of you guys make well i could get into it a little more. My main passion if fly fishing, for Salmon, Trout, Grayling etc and i have caught a few pike and perch on the fly

Hello guest, sewing thread is much weaker than fly tying thread for starters and will snap and any given time, not good when your tying in wings etc, their are uses for sewing thread like ribbing your flies and bodies on some flies
