I made this fly tying station for a friend of a friend for 200.00 but when it was finished he couldn't afford to pay for it. It's made out of solid maple, 23" x 13" x 11" tall. I use one just like it and I like it a lot. The light color of the maple contrast well with my flies and my material. I'm asking 160.00 + shipping. I almost have that much in it in materials.

BassCat has the best carpet in my opinion and reasonably priced. They will send you sample piece if you want to see it first. It's 24 oz. so you might need to shave your hatch edges but it's worth it. Good stuff.

Thanks everyone for the kind replies. I really enjoyed this build. It is a stitch and glue design. The wood is 1/8" plywood covered inside and out with fiberglass cloth and many coats of epoxy. The canoe is 16 -1/2 feet and weighs 59 lb. I have approximately 85 labor hours in it not including drying times.

I think red changes differently and at deeper depth depending on the color and clarity of the water. But so will the red blood and gills of real bait fish. I would think predator fish would know the hue or tone of red in even very deep water. Even if every thing appears to be in black in white there a lot of different tones.
