  1. epoxy paint or Devcon 2ton epoxy will hold up in plastic
  2. I made one with a Cabelas jerky shooter, the big metal one holds a ton
  3. I heard that guides in Mexico just use Scotch tape on wacky rig sencos
  4. Yeah, somewhere around a 5 count
  5. These are from my three molds, the middle tube came from a mold made with Sharpies
  6. Its one piece, this mold has glass inserts, like mini test tubes. You just pour the hot plastic in wait a little bit, then dump the plastic out. My other tube molds don't have the glass, the molds are made from Tuff-Stone
  7. Here's one of my tube molds, pour the plastic in, wait a few seconds
  8. I' m getting nowhere trying to attach a photo, I have pics on Photobucket and computer library
  9. I tried some of those recipes, couldn't get happy with any. Alumilite is definitely the way to go as far as silicone. I make my plaster molds with Tuff Stone, great detail and super strong.
  10. I glued about a dozen utility blades together with JB Weld, with spacers in between them, mounted on a 1" square tube that's held to a 2X4 with basketball hoop brackets, sort of a press set up, I'll try for a picture
  11. The tube on the left is the "test" tube. It's made from a small glass vial commonly found in clinics and hospitals. The center tube came out of a mold I made using Sharpies and the big one came out of another vial mold
  12. you are making the easy, difficult. pour the plastic in, wait a few seconds, pour the plastic out. let cool, pull tube out of test tube, cut tails. my test tubes are mounted in plaster
  13. Very cool looking but I think there's just too much stuff there
  14. I bought a 50lb bag of fine grade feed mixing salt for 7$. Which would be great if I used salt
  15. I've made over 30 injectable molds with the hard plasters, so I have some experience in this endevor. i've used ultra cal, hydrastone and settled on superstone. Superstone is pretty new, it has fibers in the plaster for exra strength and is the same price as the other stuff. I vibrate my plaster the same way, works great, but paint a print coat of plaster on the baits with a small brush before pouring the rest of the plaster in the mold, that eliminatesthe bubbles. One coat of elmers and water is all I use to seal.
  16. I've been using Plasti-dip for years. I does not chip, period. It dries fast, only need 1 coat. The only drawback is that it is not wormproof, so I only use it on bass jigs with rubber or silicone skirts. Plasti-dip just came out with a "make your own color" kit with a clear base.
  17. I use it on my jig heads. It absolutely does'nt chip. the only drawback is that it is not wormproof.
