  1. Forgive me for posting what is probably the ugliest lure you're gonna see on TU but bear in mind it did only take 20 minutes to make from start to finish:lol: Was just testing out the design to see how it worked and surprisingly it caught fish within the first few casts. Made of balsa and as its quite a fat lure it took a belly full of lead to get the action how I wanted. I'll refine the design one day (when I stop messing about on other projects:whistle:) but so far it seems to be a very nice little summer chub lure.....despite making me want to puke when I look at it

    Two Mice

A super sized meadow mouse? My local pike would love that!

    Brown trout

Excellent paintjob Wolfcreek. I own a few of your gliders so I know for a fact that your lures work as good as they look. Keep it up!

    Troublemaker shad baits

Some serious work gone into those! Very nice.

    Darters

They look like hogs rather than darters. Nicely done though, they are very good lures.

    GREEN CRAPPIE

Good job for anybody never mind a 13 year old.

    Heaven and hell

Excellent mix of colours on this one.
  8. I do the same as Longball. If however you are melting the lead into the hole I don't know how possible or safe this method is.
  9. I've heard about people using rubber roofing material, butyl pond liner and other similar materials.

    excalibur!

Beautiful, nice finish. If it moves as good as it looks then you're onto a winner!
  11. Like Etch said, the fish will still like it. I did a similar thing with a bait a couple of days ago

    4" Jointed Swimbait

Really like the colour pattern on this one Bob. Sometimes less is more. Good looking lure!
  16. Thanks Mark, I'll look it up.
  17. Thanks for all the replies I should have made myself more clear but most of you have worked it out.I was thinking specifically about blending colours without the use of stencils and masking tape etc, although I do use those for the details. Also spraying the backs of narrow lures was always a problem so thanks to Mark for the tip on that. I will have a look at the different nozzles as well and see what I come up with. Thanks again guys. Doomdart, my avatar is a fish I caught on a recent trip to India. It has been a lifelong ambition to catch one of these so I'm very happy. Doesn't look that big in the picture but it's a 55lb Silver Mahseer, reputed to be the hardest fighting freshwater fish in the world. I've changed the colour of the photo though to make it look a bit 'olde worlde'.
  18. Any tips on how to avoid it? Cheers, Luke
  19. You can get sheets of copper foil for example on ebay Seems quite expensive but no doubt you can find it cheaper in the US.....as usual:( 4" aluminium tape should be quite readily available. Again I bought mine off ebay.
