Nice Bob....what kind of depth are you getting with that lip and the weight? Rod
  2. CSOB3, I seriously doubt your problems are related to Flex Coat or Createx. I read everything there is to read about their toxic makeup, and there barely is any unless you drink it and I don't think you did that. My advice to you is to bite the bullet and go to the Mayo Clinic and get an answer. They are amazing and will find the problem. Rod
  3. You can get .092 stainless screw eyes from Stamina. They make several lengths up to 2". Rod
  4. I make many jointed baits, trolling baits and swim baits. They catch fish! My theory is "keep it simple"...I use screw eyes period....Here is a three piece swim bait I built for walleye and kept it simple. It has awesome action and catches fish.
  5. Vince, Here is the one I use. It is simple, but works great. http://www.professionalequipment.com/north-safety-7700-series-silicone-half-mask-s-nor77030s/half-mask-respirators/ Rod

  8. Try these guys, http://www.barlowstackle.com/ Rod
  9. Cool idea....simple and functional. Rod
  10. I like your table Pete. Great Idea. Spare tire, Save your money. It will not do what you want it to. I bought one thinking the same thing and it is just to small for musky baits. Rod
  11. I don't know how technical we want to get??? It is actually a Heddon Super Sonic....anyway I will give it to KcDano....your up. Rod
  12. Rapala fat rap perch pattern???
  13. I agree with you blackjack, I was just trying to defend Smokey, because it seemed everybody jumped on him for just mentioning it.... New members should be able to start threads without getting chastised. Maybe I took it wrong..... Rod
  14. Smokey J, I thought it was pretty interesting also. Lucky Craft lures are hot right now no matter what anybody says....the Stacey King and the Staysee 90 are two of the hottest lures going. There are some pretty bold statements here denouncing a company that has been kicking ass for a long time.... Yes, they are trying to sell lures, does this skin thing work....who knows, interesting none the less.... The fact that companies have tried this before even puts more merit in it as far as I am concerned...."It's called Marketing".....Hello.....Sure, there are a lot of good builders on this site, but I don't think any of them are doing as well as Lucky Craft....trust me. Smokey you can't be afraid of making a statement here. There are many opinionated people on this site, but I couldn't sit here and agree with them on this..... Rod

    prop bait

    Definitely great work...... Rod
  16. Remember this, and it extremely pretains to Airbrushes, you get what you pay for. Look for the best Iwata Gravity feed you can afford. You will not be disappointed. Rod
  17. Save yourself all the headaches and listen to Riverman....get an Iwata and your problems will go away. Trust me..... Rod
  18. Cut a strip of painters tape the same width as the joint about three inches long. Wrap tightly around the joint and it will be held vertically for painting on the same plane. I have made many jointed baits found this to be the best painting method, Rod

    some baits

Love that middle trout, what did you make the tail and fins out of? Rod
  20. There is no comparison, Iwata gravity feed is a dream. Smooth painting with great atomizing and super easy to clean. You won't be sorry if you spend the extra money. Rod
  21. I think the "Tater Hog" has been breathing too many paint fumes...lol Rod

    Cracking paint

Dean, I was merely giving him another choice of top coats. I guess I assumed all the other things were taken into consideration and I could have explained myself better. Sometimes I forget that the obvious is not that obvious to some. Didn't mean to sound defensive or argumentative. I have used just about every top coat on the market and for my taste I like devcon. Mainly because it is tough and I build Musky baits also. I do build baits for lake trout out of Cedar, seal them with Swede's concoction, prime, paint and 3 coats of Devcon and fish them at 80 to 100 feet and have never had one fail. And yes I do make sure all the sharp edges are rounded and that extra care goes to lip, line tie and hook hanger attachment and sealing. I have built hundreds of baits using this method, so I do know a little about devcon and sealing baits...... Rod

    Cracking paint

Then explain to me why my baits don't do the same thing when I am fishing the same depths. Do you think I am not telling the truth???? It is inferior top coat, trust me on this..... Rod
  24. For those of you that use a lathe for your baits you all know how hard it is to get the hang of a skew chisel. There is a product by Robert Sorby called the spindlemaster that is an awesome lathe tool. It never catches and is very easy to use. Here is a link, try one I promise it will blow your mind how easy it is to get a professional finish without much sanding....http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=6435&filter=Stubai Rod
